New update on 26-12-2022: CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2023 - The eligibility requirements for CLAT 2023 have been released by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). Before submitting an application, candidates must meet the CLAT eligibility requirements for 2023 in order to be considered for the national-level law entrance exam. For admission to 5-year LLB and LLM programmes, the CLAT, or Common Law Admission Test, is held. The eligibility requirements for both law programmes under CLAT 2023 vary. CLAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria for integrated LLB

The candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in March/April 2023 are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2023. Such candidates will be required to produce proof of their educational qualification at the time of CLAT counselling and admission process, failing which, their admission will be cancelled.
Minimum marks in required in qualifying exam

The candidate must have secured at least 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination (10+2) or an equivalent grade.

SC and ST category candidates must secure at least 40% marks or equivalent grades in their qualifying examination.
Age Limit for CLAT 2023
There is no age limit for appearing in the Common Law Admission Test.
CLAT LLM Eligibility Criteria 2023
Educational Qualification
The candidate must have completed LLB (5-year or 3-year) from a university recognised by the Bar Council of India.
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2023, are also eligible to apply for CLAT LLM 2023. However, such candidates will have to produce proof of their qualification at the time of counselling and seat allotment.
Minimum Marks required in the qualifying examination

The candidate must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade in their qualifying exam.

Candidates belonging to SC and ST categories must score at least 45% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade.
Age Limit for CLAT LLM
There is no upper limit for appearing in CLAT 2023 for LLM courses.

Candidates may note that the consortium has not prescribed any limit for appearing in CLAT 2023. This means candidates can appear in CLAT UG/PG as many times as they want.
CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2023: Important points to note

Candidates failing to meet the eligibility criteria of CLAT 2023 will be disqualified even if they have cleared the entrance exam. Hence, candidates must read carefully the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the NLU Consortium.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam (Class 12 for CLAT UG and final year of graduation for CLAT PG), must secure the minimum required marks. Candidates failing to secure the minimum prescribed marks in the qualifying examination will be disqualified from the CLAT admission process.

Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination will have to submit the marks obtained in the qualifying exam along with the mark sheet/certificate at the time of counselling, failing which, their admission will be cancelled.

Candidates applying under the reserved category, domicile category must submit the documents in support of their claim.
CLAT Application Form 2023
CLAT 2023 application forms will be available in the first week of January, according to the consortium. At consortiumofnlus.ac.in, eligible candidates can register and fill out an online application form. Candidates will be needed to enter personal information, communication and educational details, NLU choice, and other information when filling out the application form. Successfully registered candidates will be eligible to appear in CLAT 2023.
