What are the new updates about the CBSE Class 12 Exam?

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE Board) has today informed Supreme Court that CBSE Board pending Class 10, Class 12 Board Exam 2020 stands cancelled due to the coronavirus situation in the country. CBSE informed Supreme Court on Thursday that Class 10 remaining exams that were rescheduled from July 1, 2020- July 15, 2020 stand cancelled. In the wake of the rising number of coronavirus cases, students associated with the CBSE Board and their parents had appealed to the Supreme Court to cancel the pending CBSE Board Class 10 and CBSE Board Class 12 exams. CBSE Class 12 Exam

CBSE(Central Board of Secondary Education) is also the examination authority of NEET and JEE Main. Therefore the curriculum of these two exams is well-aligned with the CBSE Class XI and Class XII syllabus of the targeted subjects. In JEE Main, 40% weightage given to Class 12 board marks in the merit list drawn for the exam while in NEET (AIPMT), Class 12 Students should at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Class 12 exams to be Qualify to write the paper. CBSE Class 12 Updates

CBSE Class 10th and Class 12 Examinations extended due to nationwide lockdown. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of examinations, said that the CBSE has ruled out the possibility of canceling the remaining exams. Deliberations are on to decide the timeline to conduct the remaining exams. Taking note on the country is divided into red, orange, and green zones basis the severity of the Coronavirus spread, he said that it wouldn’t be feasible for the Board to conduct the exams in phases. He added that the rescheduled examinations would follow the same cycle across India.

Lastest update : CBSE Board exams that were cancelled are now rescheduled by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Due to the violence that took place, the exams were cancelled in North East Delhi. Now CBSE Board has rescheduled the exams for Class 12th from March 31st, 2020 to 4th April 2020 and for Class 10th from 21st March 2020 to 30th March 2020. CBSE Class 12 Exam 2020

CBSE(Central Board of Secondary Education) is a National Board of Education for schools in India. The Union Government of India administers it. CBSE Conducts class 10 and 12 board exams in March every year. For the year 2020, CBSE 12th board exam will conduct from February 15 – April 4, 2020 (Tentative). CBSE board has instructed all schools to do practical exams/ internal assessments from January 1 to February 7, 2020. Around 20,300 private and public schools, including Kendriya Vidayalas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and 220 schools in 28 foreign nations, are affiliated to CBSE. All the schools affiliated to CBSE have advised to follow the NCERT curriculum.

What are the changes established by CBSE?

The CBSE board has revised the syllabus, examination pattern, and schedule for students appearing in class 12 exam next year.

  • State governments have the power to Calculate the facilities issued by schools under CBSE.
  • CBSE Class 12 Exams for vocational subjects will Perform in February.
  • CBSE Class 12 Exam for all main subjects will finish by March.
  • More time will give to faculty members for calculating exam papers, and results are likely to be announced earlier.
  • The number of analytical questions, short questions, & numerical will increase to discourage rote learning.
  • Overlapping concepts in Class 12 Physics and other subjects have removed.
  • Group-15 of P block & Solid-state have removed from the Chemistry syllabus.

CBSE has increased exam application fees from INR 750 to INR 1500 for general category Students. However, no exam fee is applicable for Delhi students.  

  • As per the recent announcement, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, has released that the students of Delhi government & aided schools are not necessary to pay the board exam fees.  

The number of descriptive questions may reduce in the CBSE exam 2020. 

  •  This year, there will be 33 Percentile internal choices in the question paper. 
  • Two marks questions are chances to be more than that of 5 to 8 marks questions. 
  • It will increase by one mark objective type questions. 

The promotion criteria for CBSE class 12 students is more than 33% overall. Additionally, they have to obtain more than 33% in both practical and theoretical exams.

  • CBSE Class 12 Students not passing in any one subject have to write compartment for the same in July.
  • CBSE Class 12 Students only get three chances to clear all the papers.
  • Student failing compartment thrice/one who fails in two or more exams have to rewrite all the subjects next year.

Arts/Humanities Stream

This Subject paper generally consists of theoretical subjects which include psychology, history, geography, and other related subjects

  • Subject Paper divided into 3 to 4 sections, and the maximum marks a Student can secure are 100.
  • Students are issued with three hours to complete the exam.
  • There are MCQ questions in the first section of the Subject paper, which are of 1 mark each and short type questions, which contain two marks each.
  • There are long answers in the following sections consisting of 5 to 6 marks each in the later parts of the questions paper.

 Commerce Stream

  • Commerce stream consists of subjects, which are a mix of theory as well as practical/numerical questions.
  • Paper divided into three parts comprising of MCQ, short answers, and long answers questions mixed with theory and numerical problems.
  • In this Stream 1st part of the question paper is of objective type question with one mark for the correct response
  • There are short questions, which can be of 2 to 5 marks. These can be theoretical/numerical type questions.
  • The last part of the question paper is generally based on a long answer type questions of six marks each and can be of long theory question/numerical question.

 Science Stream (Medical)

  • Question paper for this stream divided into 4- 5 parts.
  • There are MCQ type questions, Short type questions, and long answer type questions as well.
  • There is no overall choice for questions. However, some options provide externally for items, and candidates give 3 hours to complete the exam.
  • Part 1, which is the MCQ type question, consists of 1 mark each.
  • There are two types of short questions, which are 2 and 3 marks.
  • The question paper concludes with a long answer question of 5 marks.

 Science Stream (Non-Medical)

  • Science Stream Question paper divided into 4 parts.
  • Numerical questions are more as compared to theoretical questions.
  • There are concise answer, short answer, and long answer questions.
  • Part-1 is of short answer type questions for which the students give a maximum one mark.
  • This Stream Part 2 and 3 are the short answer for which candidates gives 2 and 3 marks respectively.
  • Part 4 is of long answer type question for which the candidates issue five marks. 

How to Check the CBSE Class 12 Results?

CBSE Class 12 Result will declare on May 2 (Tentative) on the official website(cbse.nic.in). Students can check their Class 12 results by entering the admit card id, school number, center number, and board roll number. 

  • Log onto the official website(cbse.nic.in). 
  • Click on the link stating (Class XII) 2020.
  • Enter your Roll number, School number, Center Number, and Date of Birth and Click on the Submit Button.
  • The results will appear on the screen.
  • Download and save it for future reference.

CBSE Class 12 -Improvement Exams Details

Students who are not satisfied with their performance in the CBSE Class 12 exam can apply for improvement in the respective subjects. The application form for the same can fill in the month of October and November. 

What are the Criteria to Apply for Improvement in Class 12?

Students who passed the CBSE Board exam in 2018 and 2019 are Qualify to apply for the 2020 improvement exam.

  • Students can choose more than one subject for improvement.
  • The Improvement application fee will vary according to the number of subjects chosen.
  • Students can prefer the latest or improvement result after the declaration of CBSE 2020 Improvement result.

Students advised to go through the eligibility as per CBSE before applying for the improvement exam. If the Students do not meet the qualification, his/her exam form will cancel.

  • Students are Qualify only if they have passed the previous Board Exam. They had appeared for the Exam.
  • Students who wish to raise their previously scored marks are allowed to give the improvement exam.
  • He/she must have studied from CBSE Board.
  • He/she must not have a compartment in any subject.
  • He/she can only write an improvement exam for the subjects he previously appeared for the Exam.
  • Improvement exam can give for subjects out of the five main subjects only.

Online Class 12 Improvement Form Submission Students can fill the online form from October. The steps to apply for the same listed below.

  • Visit the official website(cbse.nic.in)
  • Click on Apply Online for Improvement exam.
  • Students should Enter the Roll number and school name.
  • Next, choose the subjects they want to give the Exam in.
  • Enter the preferred choice of exam centers.
  • Provide the asked personal details.
  • Click the submit and select the mode of payment.
  • After successful payment, the application form must be downloaded and printed for future reference.

CBSE Class 12- Improvement Result

The CBSE Board will announce the Class 12 Improvement result in August. The best score from the Improvement and Board exam will be taken into consideration while making the final scorecard. CBSE releases the class 12th result online in the second week of May. Students can check their results on (cbse.nic.in).

CBSE Class 12 Exam Day Instructions

  • It is mandatory Students must wear school uniform only.
  • Students must carry their respective CBSE class XII admit cards, signed by parents, to the allotted exam center.
  • All instructions given on the back of the admit card should be read carefully before appearing for the examination.
  • Banned items like mobile phones, calculators, and smartwatch and (or) any cheating material should not carry to the exam hall.
  • The reporting venue for the exam is 10 am.
  • The question paper will be provided by the assistant superintendent at 10:15 am. Fifteen minutes will give to Students for going through the question paper and strategizing their action plan.
  • The time duration of time given for each subject should be followed meticulously by the Students.
  • Students should write their particulars on the answer book cautiously and double-check the details before submitting them.
