What is CAT?

  • CAT Exam 2020 is a computer-based test that held in India for the admission of management programs in various B-schools in and across India. In this CAT Exam, the skills of the students tested in multiple areas include Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability, Reading comprehension, data interpretation, and logical reasoning. 
  • At first, the exam was started by the Indian Institute of Management for the selection of students for the business administration programs of IIMs. Every year, the CAT exam conducted by one of the Indian Institute of Management. Later, in the year 2011, it has made public that other institutes such as Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) should use the CAT scores, instead of the JMET to select students for their management programs.

  • CAT Exam aspirants should have a bachelor's degree with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA (45 percent for SC, ST, and PWD/DA category) from a recognized board or university

  • Applicants must have completed a professional degree (CA/ CS/ ICWA) with the required percentage.

  • CAT Applicants appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification or awaiting results are also eligible to apply for the CAT exam.

What are the detailed Eligibility Criteria of CAT 2020?

Not everyone can attend the CAT Exam 2020, which will conduct in the upcoming months.   • Aspirants must hold a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks. In case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD)/Differently Abled (DA) category) awarded by any recognized University or institute, they should have at least equivalent CGPA 45%.
  • Moreover, candidates who are studying the final year of their bachelor's degree or its equivalent qualification and who have completed their degree waiting for their results can also be eligible to apply for the CAT Exam. 
  • And, if selected, he/she will be allowed to join the management program, only if he/she submits a certificate within the specified date.
  • There will be no lower or upper age limit specified for appearing in CAT exam 2020. Students who possess an equivalent exam degree recognized by MHRD, Government of India (including AMICE of the Institution of Civil Engineers) are also Qualify to apply for CAT Exam 2020.

What are the Documents Needed to fill the CAT 2020 Application Form?

It’s quite easy to apply for the CAT Exam 2020 by visiting the official website. But, the candidates have to keep ready a few documents along with them while applying for the CAT 2020. This is because, there are so many details needed to fill in the CAT 2020 application form such as personal details, academic details, and so on. Here are the few documents that one should keep ready along with them.

  • Unique Email Address to apply for CAT 2020.
  • Net banking/Credit Card/Debit Card details to pay the application fee for CAT Exam 2020.
  • Keep your Class 12 certificate with you as you need to enter your name the same as in the 12th Diploma/degree certificate.
  • Keep your Birth Certificate ready along with you.
  • 10th, 12th Mark sheets, degree final year certificate, professional exam, and master's degree certificate.

CAT Exam 2020 Application Form procedure will conduct in online mode only at the Official Website iimcat.ac.in. CAT Application Form expected to start from August 8, 2020, to September 26, 2020. During Registration Process IIMs send unique CAT registration ID and Password to login into the online portal of the CAT(Common Admission Test). Previous Year Cut Off marks for CAT Exam

Cut off marks for any exam is of two types of which one is the qualifying cut off marks and whereas the other one is the cutoff marks that is varied according to the institutions. Some of the factors that influence CAT cut off marks are as follows.

The cut off marks of CAT 2019 for IIM institutions falls between 90-99 marks percentile. CAT 2020 - FAQ

Can I edit or make changes in CAT 2020 application form, once I have made payment?

After paying the amount of application fee, no changes will be allowed to be made in the CAT application form. However, the correction window will open where candidates can edit their photographs and signature only.

Is Candidates pursuing the final year of graduation eligible to appear for CAT 2020?

Yes, Candidates need to provide the aggregate percentage of the last marks statements received by their university.   

3.

I have done my graduation. Do I need to enter the overall percentage of total marks as per my university standards?

As per last year's CAT eligibility criteria, candidates need to submit the percentage as per their university norms.

4.

Are there any age criteria for CAT 2020?

No, there is no age bar to appear for CAT 2020.

5.

What is the fee for the CAT exam?

As per last year's trend, candidates belonging to General and NC-OBC category candidates need to pay Rs 1900. Those belonging to the reserved category (SC/ ST/ PWD) need to pay Rs 950.
