An Introduction to BITSAT

BITSAT exams is organised and conducted by BITS Pilani. BITSAT exams are for the students who seek to enter into integrated first degree programmes that are provided in the university. Students who qualify in the BITSAT exams can enter into courses namely B.E, B.Pharm and M.Sc. BITSAT exams is conducted through online mode. Candidates who qualify in BITSAT exams are eligible to enter into either of the campuses in Hyderabad, Goa or Pilani. Birla Institute of Technology and Science is the conducting authority and it regulates BITSAT exams. Birla Institute of Technology is also responsible to frame the rules and decide the important dates related to BITSAT exams. BITSAT exams are conducted once in a year and mostly in the month of May. BITSAT 2019 is conducted between May 16 and 26. The admit card for BITSAT exams will be available on 12th April 2019. Highlighted details of BITSAT exams are listed in the below given table.

What are the Important dates of BITSAT?

BITSAT 2019 exams are held in the month of May. Students should register for the BITSAT exams on the dates as announced by the authority. Registration for BITSAT 2019 exams commenced from January 4th, 2019. The last date for submitting BITSAT application form is March 20th 2019.  The important dates related to BITSAT are announced by the conducting authority through notifications in the BITSAT official page. What is the Eligibility Criteria of BITSAT Exams?

Students who aspire to enter into B.E or B.Pharm or M.Sc courses in Birla Institute of Technology and Science should be satisfying the eligibility conditions framed by the conducting body. BITSAT exams is the entrance exam conducted for the students to seek admission in this institute for their preferred courses. In order to apply for and attend BITSAT 2019 exams, students should satisfy some eligibility conditions which are provided in the table below.

How to Apply for BITSAT Exams?

Students will have to register for BITSAT exams through online application form that will be available in the official page from the date as given by the authorities. The application forms for BITSAT is available from January 4th, 2019 and the last date to fill the application is 20th March, 2019. Students should provide accurate personal, academic and communication details in the BITSAT application form. Also necessary documents are to be attached in the prescribed format. Follow the steps to easily complete the registration for BITSAT exams.

  • Students will require a valid email ID and mobile number for registration.
  • Once registered with the ID, students will have to fill BITSAT application form.
  • Personal, academic and communication details are to be filled in the application form. Ensure that true and correct information are provided in the application form.
  • Students will have to provide any three centre of examination in order of their preference.
  • Student’s photograph and signature are to be scanned and uploaded.
  • Once done, students should make the payment of the registration fees either online or offline.
  • Online payment is possible through net banking, credit card or debit card. In case of offline payment, students should download pay slip and make payment at the nearest ICICI bank.
  • The payment details are to be entered in the BITSAT application form and submit to complete BITSAT application process.

Students who wish to appear for BITSAT Exams should successfully make the payment of registration fees before the deadline as mentioned. Payment can  be made either through online mode or offline mode according to students’ convenience. Online payment can be done either through one of the options namely credit card, debit card or net banking. For students who prefer to pay offline should visit any nearest ICICI bank with the pay slip that is downloaded and make the payment at the bank. The application fees for BITSAT 2019 are given below.

  • For male students of all categories - Rs.3150
  • For female students of all categories - Rs.2650

At the time of filling BITSAT 2019 application form, students will require to upload a few documents. Students should scan their signature and photograph in order to upload it along with BITSAT application form. Recent photograph of the candidate must be provided for this purpose. The documents must be uploaded in the prescribed specifications given below table.

What is BITSAT Admit Card?

BITSAT Admit Card is available online in the official site from 12th April 2019. Students who have registered successfully for BITSAT will alone receive BITSAT admit card. BITSAT admit card has all the details of the candidate and the exam details namely exam date, exam time, exam centre. It acts as the entrance hall ticket without which students cannot appear for BITSAT exams 2019. BITSAT admit card has great importance in every stage of admission. It is required even for BITSAT counselling, seat allotment and admission. BITSAT admit card should be printout out in an A4 size sheet and kept safe until all the admission process gets completed.

Information on BITSAT Result

BITSAT results of 2019 will be announced once the exams are completed. BITSAT results will be published online on the given dates. Students can check their results through online mode by using their registration details and password. The total number of correct answers and wrong answers are provided in BITSAT result. Scores obtained  by the candidates are displayed in the BITSAT results. BITSAT merit list is prepared by the authorities once the BITSAT results are published. The merit list for different courses are published based on the scores of the candidates in BITSAT exams. Students will be able to check the admission list through online on June 20, 2019. Candidates can follow the below given steps to check their BITSAT results.

  • Visit the BITSAT 2019 Result link.
  • Enter your application number, password and security pin.
  • Score obtained by the candidate will be displayed along with the number of correct and wrong answers.
  • Candidates will have to download BITSAT Results and take print out for further use.

Incase the candidate has forgotten or missed his or her application number, then you need not be afraid. All you need to do is, follow the below provided steps.

  • Visit the BITSAT results official link.
  • Click on “Forgot Application Number or Password” tab.
  • Enter your registered mobile number, email id, gender and date of birth.
  • Click “Submit” to view your BITSAT Results 2019.

What is BITSAT Answer Key?

BITSAT Answer Key can be download from online in the official page of BITSAT. Answer key is the set of correct answers for the questions asked in the exams. BITSAT answer key is released before the results are published by the exam authorities of BITSAT. The students will be able to calculate their expected score with the help of the answer key. Students can calculate their score by providing 3 marks for every correct answer and 1 negative mark for every wrong answer. The student has the right to raise objection in case of any discrepancy in the BITSAT answer key during the given time for this purpose. Once all the objections are considered, the exam authority releases the final answer key before publishing the BITSAT results.

About BITSAT Cut Off

BITSAT Cutoff mark is the minimum mark required to be qualified in BITSAT exams. The students who are qualified in BITSAT exams will be able to get admission in Birla Institute. Students with more cut off has more chance of being placed in the institute for the most preferred course. BITS Pilani will call the candidates for BITSAT counselling based on BITSAT Cutoff. BITSAT Cutoff marks will be based on various influencing factors which are as follows.

  • Highest score in the exam

What is BITSAT Counselling?

All the BITSAT qualified candidates will be eligible to participate in the BITSAT counselling. Students will have to register for BITSAT counselling after the BITSAT results are published. Usually BITSAT counselling and seat allotment is conducted in the fourth week of May every year. Students will have to furnish the details of the courses in the order of their preference. The counselling and seat allotment will be conducted in the form of iteration rounds. The admission list and wait list is displayed after every round of seat allotment.
