China successfully launched two BeiDou-3 satellites named BeiDou-3 M1 and BeiDou-3 M2 into space on board of single carrier rocket Long March-3B from  Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern province of Sichuan. These two satellites and carrier rocket were developed by China Academy of Space Technology and China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, respectively. The two newly-launched satellites represent third phase of BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. They will reside in a medium-Earth orbit at an altitude.

Tata Steel established India’s largest Coke Dry Quenching (CDQ) facility, capable of handling 200 metric tonnes per hour, at its state-of-the-art steel plant at Kalinganagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur district of Odisha. CDQ is a heat recovery system to cool hot coke from coke ovens. It is one of the best energy-efficient and environment-friendly facility in steel production where hot coke removed from coke ovens at a temperature of around 1,000 degree Celsius is cooled and kept dry with the inert gas.

Odisha being the ‘focus state’ of mega event World Food India-2017 (WFI), the state set to get investments from Amul worth around Rs.250 Crores. With an aim to tap huge diary potential of Odisha, Gujarat based dairy cooperative, Amul announced that it will invest around Rs 250 crore in the State.  It is the second biggest market for Amul in India. Currently, there is a supply gap of 30 lakh liters of milk per day in the State.

Telangana set to provide 24x7 power supply in order to boost farm sector. The state government decided to take this initiative by supplying 'quality' and 'uninterrupted' power on an experimental basis in the entire state to the agricultural sector.  Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao did experimental basis 24-hour power supply would be given from Monday night for five or six days all over the state for the agriculture sector. Transco, Genco and Discoms SPDCL and NPDCL have invested about Rs. 12,000 Crore to strengthen the distribution and supply systems. About 23 lakh pump sets are in use in the State farm sector.

Under the scheme of SPARSH (Scholarship for Promotion of Aptitude & Research in Stamps as a Hobby), it is proposed to award annual scholarships to children of Standard VI to IX having good academic record and also pursuing Philately as a hobby.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal rolled out 647 schemes entailing an investment of Rs 24.57 crore for development of the world's largest river island Majuli. Out of these, 448 schemes under MGNREGA involved Rs 21.90 crore and 199 schemes under 14th Finance Commission have an outlay of Rs 2.67 crores.

The annual ‘Balijatra’ festival was inaugurated by Health and Law Minister Pratap Jena at Gadagadia ghat in Odisha on the banks of river Mahanadi. The week-long famous fair on an area of 30 acres on the river bank will continue till November 10. It got the nod from east zone bench of National Green Tribunal for the second time this year.

India defeated China 5-4 via shootout to win the women’s Asia Cup hockey title 2017. With this, India also qualified for World Cup 2018 as Continental champion. Savita Punia was adjudged Goalkeeper-of-the-Tournament while Monica won the Woman-of-the-Match award. Skipper Rani scored twice while Monica, Lilima Minz, and Navjot Kaur scored a goal each in the shootout.

Five-time world champion and Olympic bronze medalist MC Mary Kom named as the ambassador of the upcoming AIBA Women's Youth World Championships. The event, which is being hosted in Guwahati, Assam is scheduled to be held from November 19 to 26. The 34-year-old is currently in Vietnam for the Asian Championships and has reached the semi-finals of the tournament.

The Haryana government signed initial pacts worth Rs. 2,069 crore with 44 agro-based and food processing enterprises and establishments that will provide employment to 5,012 persons. The MoUs were signed in the presence of State Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at the Haryana Session on the second day of the three-day World Food India organized in the national capital.
