Current Affairs Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, who recently earned a business management degree crowned during the event at The AXIS theatre at Planet Hollywood casino-resort on the Las Vegas Strip. The runner-up was Miss Colombia Laura Gonzalez, while the second runner-up was Miss Jamaica, Davina Bennett. Ninety-two women from around the world participated in the decades-old competition. This year's edition had the most contestants ever, including the first-ever representatives of Cambodia, Laos and Nepal.

According to Ajay Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of electronics and IT, the Government of India will assist Mauritius to develop and set up digital locker services, on the sidelines of Global Conference on Cyber Space 2017. The government will offer technical support and advisory services to Mauritius. DigiLocker is a key initiative of the Indian government under its flagship Digital India program. The service is aimed at paperless governance.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) for first time formulated clinical guidelines on responding to children and adolescents who have been sexually abused. The guidelines are grounded in human rights standards and ethical principles. They will assist frontline health care providers general practitioners, gynaecologists, nurses and others who may directly receive victim of sexual abuse or may identify sexual abuse during the course.

Indonesia raised its warning for Bali's Mount Agung volcano to the top level four alert closed the holiday island's airport and told residents near the summit to immediately evacuate, warning of the “imminent” risk of a larger eruption. Bali's airport was closed for 24 hours, disrupting 445 flights and some 59,000 passengers, due to the eruption warning and the presence of volcanic ash from Agung.

Hyderabad Metro Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate it in this week along with Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao. The fares have been announced recently. The metro rail services would begin from 6 AM on November 29 on the 30-kilometre Nagole-Ameerpet-Miyapur section, a day after its inauguration. The fare starts from a minimum of Rs 10 for a distance of up to two kilometres and the maximum fare is Rs 60 for a distance of more than 26 km. Among the highlights are road-level ramps for wheelchairs, wide corridors for easy manoeuvrability at stations, extra wide automated fare collection gates, spacious lifts with Braille buttons and a tactile strip till the edge of the platform to help the visually challenged navigate better.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch first solar mission Aditya-L1 in 2019. It will be India’s first dedicated scientific mission to Sun. The mission aims to put 1,500-kg heavy class Aditya-L1 satellite into a halo orbit around Lagrangian point L1, a point between Sun and Earth. It is a joint venture between ISRO and physicists from various institutes including Indian Institute of Astrophysics (Bengaluru).
