Prime minister Narendra Modi has launched Umang mobile application, an integrated platform for government to citizen services. Umang- an acronym for "unified mobile app for new age" e-governance - currently hosts around 162 services from 33 government departments of central and state governments. The app has been developed by the ministry of electronics and information technology (MEITY). 

Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) laid down provisions to help Pensioners in submitting Jeevan Pramaan with ease. Those pensioners who have already submitted Jeevan Pramaan digitally for the previous year need not essentially submit digital Pramaan for the current year. Those who have not submitted Jeevan Pramaan digitally even once should submit it digitally in this month. This facility is available in all offices of the EPFO, pension disbursing banks, and common service centers.

Bareilly's Shubhangi Swaroop became the first-ever female pilot to be inducted into the Indian Navy. Swaroop who has been appointed in the Naval Armament Inspection (NAI) branch will now undergo pilot training at Dundigal Air Force Academy near Hyderabad. She is among the 328 cadets who passed out from the Indian Naval Academy's first batch of female officers.

The Union Cabinet approved the continuation of the scheme on Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) for another three financial years (FYs 2017-18 to 2019-20). This decision will make IICA self-sustainable by the end of FY (2019-20). It is is an agency under the aegis and jurisdiction of Ministry of Corporate Affairs. It handles and deals with various subjects, matters, and affairs of corporate affairs regulation, governance, and policy. It was established in 2008 at Manesar, Gurgaon (Haryana).

Paytm has bought an undisclosed stake in Urja Money Private Limited which evaluates the creditworthiness of people seeking loans to buy two-wheelers. Paytm will use Urja’s proprietary CreditMate technology to create a loan management system in collaboration with lending partners. Mumbai-based Urja, incorporated in July 2016, has partnerships with banks and non-banking entities on the supply side and auto-dealers on the demand side. The company raised $500,000 from India Quotient last November.

Telugu would be implemented as a compulsory subject from the first standard to Intermediate, including in the CBSE and ICSE schools, from the next academic year in Telangana. Deputy Chief Minister K. Srihari, who also holds Education portfolio, reviewed the steps to be taken before the commencement of the 2018-19 academic year in tune with the decision already taken by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved India's Membership for European Bank for Reconstruction & Development (EBRD). The Membership of the EBRD would enhance India's international profile and promote its economic interests and contribute to an improved investment climate in the country.  It would increase the scope of cooperation between India and EBRD through co-financing opportunities in manufacturing, services, Information Technology, and Energy.

Rajasthan’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Kiran Maheshwari launched ‘Dishari’, an educational mobile application that provides free study materials for youths preparing for competitive examinations.Dishari: The app features interactive quizzes with questions related to mathematics, general knowledge, current affairs, computers, reasoning, and economics. It provides latest updates and job alerts. Kiran Maheshwari said the app would be of great benefit to the students who cannot afford massive sums of money to join coaching centers. Kiran Maheshwari also launched ‘Management Information System’ app for geo-tagging all the government colleges of the state. The app will also provide the current RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) and NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) statuses of the colleges.

Messaging app Hike announced that it has entered into a tie-up with Airtel Payments Bank for its mobile wallet product. wing to this tie-up, users of Hike messenger will now have access to Airtel Payments Bank’s vast product line including merchant and utility payments. From Airtel Payments Bank’s perspective, this tie-up will be beneficial as it will get access to over 100 million users on Hike. Hike Messenger, which is backed by SoftBank, registered 30 percent month-on-month growth for its wallet service. For the month of November 2017, management of Hike Messenger is expecting to register 5 million transactions which would include services like recharge and peer to peer transactions.

During the International Fraud Awareness week (12 – 18 November 2017), Axis Bank in association with Mumbai Police has launched its latest campaign #MuhPeTaala to promote safe banking. The main aim of this campaign is to raise awareness about how to keep oneself safe from falling prey to fraudulent calls asking information such as pin code, CVV, OTP.  

New Development Bank (NDB) floated by BRICS nations approved two infrastructure and sustainable development projects in India and Russia with loans of $400 million. These projects are in line with NDB’s primary objective to provide financial support for infrastructure and sustainable development in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS). NDB approved total seven projects worth $1.5 billion.

Zimbabwe's former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa will be sworn in as the President of the country. Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda stated that the ruling ZANU-PF party has nominated him to fill the vacancy left by Mr. Robert Mugabe. He stepped down after 37 years ruling the country.  Mr. Mnangagwa's dismissal from the Vice President post led the ruling party and the military to intervene and forced Mr. Mugabe to resign.

Manipur hosted the first- ever North East Development Summit (NEDS) 2017 in Imphal on21st and 22nd November 2017. NEDS 2017 was jointly organized by Manipur State Government in collaboration with Union Commerce Ministry and India Foundation. The main Objective of this summit was to showcase the economic potential and to attract investments in food processing, bamboo industry, real estate and other businesses within the state. During the course of this Summit, around 20 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) were signed between various Departments of Manipur State Government and National and International Companies/Investors.

The Union Cabinet approved the setting up of the 15th Finance Commission which will assess the tax resources of the nation and suggest a formula for their devolution among states. Its recommendations will have to be in place before April 1, 2020, it takes 2 years for Finance Commission to give its recommendations. As per Article 280 of the Constitution, the Commission is required to make recommendations on the distribution of the net proceeds of taxes between the Centre and the States. 

Social networking giant Facebook stated that it expects to train about five lakh people in India on digital skills by 2020 and has unveiled two programmes designed for individuals and start-ups. The two programmes - Facebook Digital Training and Facebook Startup Training Hubs - are being rolled out in India before any other country. Apart from these two, Facebook also runs offline training programmes as well as Blueprint (free online training for advertising on Facebook).

The Global Conference on Cyber Space will begin in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two-day mega event. For the first time, the event is being organized in India.  The theme of the conference is Cyber for All: A Secure and Inclusive Cyberspace for Sustainable Development.  The story of Digital India and Digital Inclusion of citizens will be discussed in the conference. Over 10 thousand delegates will take part in the conference in person. There will also be virtual participation from over 2800 locations across the world that will be connected in an interactive mode.
