India will soon have the first Cartoon Network-branded theme park in Gujarat. Turner International India, which owns the Cartoon Network brand, has entered into a brand partnership with Gujarat based real estate, entertainment, and hospitality group Rajgreen for the launch of a 61,000 square meter property Amaazia, in Surat. To be launched in the first quarter of 2019 on a budget of Rs 450 crore, the amusement park will be located at Surat, in Gujarat. Amaazia will be Cartoon Network's first brand association for an amusement park in India

Teddy Riner won his tenth World title at the 2017 Judo World Championships Open in Marrakesh and remains undefeated emperor in judo. French heavyweight judo champion Teddy Riner won his 10th world title with victory at the open-weight world championships in Marrakech. He won his ninth gold medal at the world championships in Budapest two months ago. He had already become the most successful judoka of all-time with his eighth title in 2015. He has not faced defeat since losing in the final of the open-weight championships to Japanese fighter Daiki Kamikawa in September 2010.

A report by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) found that the air quality of holy city Varanasi is most polluted among the 42 cities monitored recently. Varanasi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was at an alarming  491, followed by Gurugram at 480, Delhi at 468, Lucknow at 462 and Kanpur at 461. Notably, pollution level is categorized as ‘severe’ when the AQI ranges between 401 and 500.

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting was held in Da Nang, Vietnam. The theme of this meeting was ‘Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future’. The Leaders of 21 Pacific Rim countries attended this meeting. This was the first APEC meeting for several leaders including United States President Donald Trump, South Korean President Moon Jae-in, and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. The APEC summit for 2018 will be held in Papua New Guinea.

As per the AIFF, the apex court also appointed S Y Quraishi, former Chief Election Commissioner of India who has also served as Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India as the ombudsmen to formulate the AIFF Constitution.

India’s tennis star Leander Paes and his Indian partner Purav Raja clinched the Knoxville Challenger men's doubles title at Tennessee in the United States on Sunday. The Indian duos defeated the pair of American-Australian James Cerretani and John Patrick Smith. This year in August, Paes, and Raja won their first ever title in partnership. Pairing with Canadian Adil Shamasdin and American Scott Lipsky, Leander Paes won three Challenger level titles this season. Purav Raja with Divij Sharan had won Bordeaux Challenger before joining Leander Paes he had also made the final of the Chennai Open.

President Ramnath Kovind will be present as the chief guest at the Foundation Day celebrations. The assets are provided to the beneficiaries at the Maherabadi Ground, under Ujjwala Plan, Crop Insurance Scheme, Swile Health Health Scheme, Dudharu gaay Distribution Scheme, Mudra Yojana, Prime Minister Employment Guarantee Scheme, Jharkhand State Livelihood Mission Scheme and Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana. Jharkhand was founded in eastern India created from the southern part of Bihar on 15 November 2000.

The Union government will launch its second and final phase of the BharatNet project to provide high-speed broadband service in all Gram Panchayats by March 2019. It will be implemented at an outlay of around 34 thousand crore rupees. Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is organizing a National Conference in New Delhi in which it will sign MoUs with states for the implementation of the second phase of BharatNet. Under this phase, broadband connectivity will be provided in remaining 1.5 lakh Gram Panchayats in the country. Almost 90 thousand installations have been completed and broadband services are expected to commence in 80 thousand Gram Panchayats soon.

Odisha and its neighboring state West Bengal soon organize a joint security exercise named as ‘Sagar Kavach’ along the 630 km long coastline. It is a real-time security exercise, conducted with an aim to check the efficacy of the security parameters and preparedness of various security forces namely Indian Navy, Marine police force, Indian Coast Guard (ICG), Forest Department, Fisheries and district administration. During the course of this two-day exercise, a simulated terror attack named ‘red force’ will be organized at a random place along the coast of Odisha or West Bengal.

A 45-year-old Azoulay becomes UNESCO's second woman director general. Azoulay succeeds Irina Bokova of Bulgaria, whose eight-year term. Ms. Azoulay was France’s Minister of Culture and Communication from February 2016 to May 2017.
