The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) for the preparation of Master Plan for Delhi 2041 as an enabling strategic plan and other related policies which would be the guiding framework for the planning and growth of the city. Besides, the DDA approved the proposal of land use of tyre market at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar. The market was relocated to streamline the traffic movement and facilitate pedestrian movement at Rani Jhansi Road and to allow for the widening of Kishan Ganj Road under the bridge.

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). The MoU was signed for the exchange of information concerning Central Counterparties (CCPs) under the European Markets Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). CCPs are entities that help facilitate clearing and settlement activities. CCP is a corporate entity that exists in various European countries to help facilitate trading done in European derivatives and equities markets.

The Ministry of Rural Development will launch a new sub-scheme under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) which will be named as “Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana (AEGY)”. It aims to provide an alternative source of livelihoods to members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) under DAY-NRLM by facilitating them to operate public transport services in backwards rural areas. The States have informed about the number of blocks allocated to them to take up this sub-scheme in the pilot phases. One of the options proposed to be given under the sub-scheme is that the Community Based Organisation (CBO) will provide an interest-free loan from its own corpus to Self Help Group member for purchase of the vehicle.

President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the Bicentenary (200th) celebration of Paika Rebellion (1817) of Odisha organised by the Union Ministry of Culture in New Delhi. Many scholars, researchers and historians have opined that the Paika Rebellion of 1817 was India’s first organised armed rebellion against British Raj (then British East India Company rule). They were called as the traditional functionals which are performed by the Paiks. They owned rent-free land that was given to them for their military service to the Kingdom of Khurda.

The Indian Army signed Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to raise one regiment of the Advanced Medium Range Surface to Air Missiles (MRSAM) defence system. They are planning to have a total of five regiments of MRSAM defence system which will be deployed opposite to China and Pakistan. The MRSAM is an advanced, all weather, mobile, land-based air defence system. It can shoot down enemy ballistic missiles, aircraft, helicopters, drones, surveillance aircraft and AWACS aircraft.

The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue bank notes of denomination Rs 20 in Mahatma Gandhi series 2005. The new notes will be bearing inset letter ‘S’ in the number panel and signature of Governor Urjit R Patel. The design of these banknotes to be issued now is similar in all aspects to the Rs 20 bank notes in the same series issued earlier.

The India-Japan Agreement for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy was signed in Tokyo during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Japan. The deal would enable Japan to export nuclear power plant technology as well as provide finance for nuclear power plants in India. India is the only non-Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT) signatory country where Japan entered into a civil nuclear deal. India signed the civil nuclear deal with 10 other countries namely Russia, United States, France, South Korea, Mongolia, Namibia, Argentina, Canada, Kazakhstan and Australia.

Google launched 'Hire', a recruiting app for small- and medium-sized businesses that also integrates seamlessly with G Suite.  They planned to compete with the Microsoft owned LinkedIn.
