The dawn of cruise tourism in India’ was inaugurated in Mumbai.  There is the launch of three reports, “Mumbai Port SoP’s for cruise operations”, “Road map for Sea cruise tourism” and “Cruise terminals in India”. The 2030 Water Resources Group (2030WRG) will help the Maharashtra Government raise $270 million for the Green Climate Fund, which will be invested in integrated watershed programs such as Jalyukt Shivar Yojana. It is hosted by the International Finance Corporation and is a public-private-civil society collaboration for water resources reform in developing economies. The main aim is to close the gap between water demand and supply by the year 2030.

The Union Home Ministry declared entire Assam state as a disturbed area under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act for one more month. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) beat Bengaluru Hockey Association (BHA) by 4-2 in the final in 91st All-India MCC-Murugappa Gold Cup hockey tournament. The team received Rs 5, 00,000 prize money while BHA got Rs 2.5 lakh. It was held at Mayor Radhakrishna stadium Egmore at Chennai.

Indian shooter Ankur Mittal won the individual as well as the team Gold medal in Men’s double trap at the 7th Asian Shotgun Championship. The Asian Shotgun Championship is held in Astana, Kazakhstan. UAEs KhaledAlkaabi (70) won the silver in men’s double trap event and SaifAlshamsy (53) won the bronze.

Firoz Merchant, an Indian businessman in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) spent over USD 4 million to help free prisoners languishing in jails due to non-payment of debts honored with UAE’s prestigious Community Service Medal. The award is given in the form of a medal in recognition of his efforts to serve the community in the country. UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the UAE, Lt General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, honored Indian businessman and philanthropist Firoz Merchant with the Community Service Medal.

Mastercard and PayPal announced an extension of their partnership into Asia Pacific for making Mastercard a clear payment option within PayPal. PayPal will add Mastercard as a payment method to their e-wallet and consumers can make it their default payment option.  They will provide tokenization services and will enable mobile payments using PayPal’sdigital wallet at more than 6.5 million contactless-enabled merchant locations across the globe.

Union Home Ministry passed an order to merge the three-decade old National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) with Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD). The BPRD Director General (DG) will be the head of the merged new entity. The Government took this decision with an aim to improve administrative efficiency and optimal utilization of resources.
