Veteran actress Saira Banu and actor Jackie Shroff have been named for the prestigious Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement and Raj Kapoor Special Contribution annual awards, respectively, by the Maharashtra government, Cultural Affairs Minister Vinod Tawde. Well-known Marathi film industry personalities Vikram Gokhale and Arun Nalawade have been named for the coveted V. Shantaram Lifetime Achievement and V. Shantaram Special Contribution annual awards. Both the lifetime achievement awards carry a citation and cash of Rs 500,000 each, while both the special contribution awards carry a citation and Rs 300,000 in cash.

The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has selected Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Tripura for the Krishi Karman awards for their record performance in the production of food grains during 2015-16. Apart from these states, Meghalaya would get commendation prize for total food grain production and would be given a cash award of Rs 1 crore. Tamil Nadu has been chosen in large category (production more than 10 million tonnes), Himachal Pradesh in medium category (1 to 10 million tonnes) Tripura in small category (less than 1 million tonnes) . Tripura has been selected for the Krishi Karman Award 2015-16 for a commendable increase in food grain production in small category states.The state produced 825,000 tonnes of food grain in 2016. The state would also receive a cash award of Rs five crore.

The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank joined forces with other international organizations to cooperate on tax issues and develop new tools and standards for taxing multinational enterprises. The new group, which will also include the United Nations and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), will especially focus on building effective tax systems in developing countries and avoid tax base erosion, the partners . The effort was announced just weeks after the release of the so-called "Panama Papers" stirred outrage at the widespread use of tax haven countries and shell companies by wealthy global elites and corporations to hide assets and avoid paying taxes.

One of the sports to miss out from the programme list of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang is cricket. The government has extended the deadline till April 30 for those who are yet to pay 25% of their undisclosed income as interest-free deposits under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) scheme. Scheme started on December 17, 2016 and closed on March 31, 2017. It was the second income disclosure scheme announced by the government after the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in November. Under the scheme, a 50% tax was levied on the undisclosed income while another 25% of the undisclosed income was to be deposited in interest-free Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Deposit Scheme (PMGKDS) for four years.
