XBRL filing was in news on 11 April 2016 as the Union Corporate Affair Ministry exempted the housing finance companies from it. For this, the ministry amended the Companies (Filing of Documents and Forms in Extensible Business Reporting Language) Rules. The sectors which were already exempted from this kind of filings include Banking, insurance, power sector and non-banking finance companies.XBRL or Extensible Business Reporting Language, provides a common, electronic format for business reporting. It is a data-rich dialect of XML (Extensible Markup Language), the universally preferred language for transmitting information via the Internet. It was developed specifically to communicate information between businesses and other users of financial information, such as analysts, investors and regulators. It does not change what is being reported. It only changes how it is reported. It is a world-wide standard which was developed by an international, non-profit-making consortium, XBRL International Inc. (XII).The XBRL language uses different dictionaries, known as taxonomies, to define the specific tags used for each standard.Taxonomies provide definitions for XBRL tags which provide information about the tags. They organize the tags so that they have a meaningful structure. As a result, taxonomies enable computers with XBRL software: To understand what the tag whether it is a monetary item, a percentage or text; To what characteristics the tag if it has a negative value; To its relationship to other items if it is part of a calculation. This additional information is called meta-data. When information that was tagged with XBRL is transmitted, the meta-data contained within the tags is also transmitted.

The UN-backed ceasefire between Shi’ite Houthi rebels in Yemen and the Saudi-led coalition supporting government forces came into force in Yemen from midnight of 10 April 2016. All the sides have promised to stick to the ceasefire deal.Saudi-led coalition supporting government forces said, it will respect the ceasefire but reserves the right to respond to any rebel attacks.Saudi Arabia launched military operation against Houthi rebels in Yemen : Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, who seized much of Yemen in 2014 including the capital Sanaa, have also said they will respect the truce. The truce is aimed at giving a boost to the peace talks scheduled for 18 April 2016 in Kuwait, where the rebels will discuss the peace terms with the government of internationally recognised President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi.Further it seeks to allow the resumption of inclusive political dialogue in line with UN Security Council resolution 2216 (2015) and other relevant Council resolutions.More than 6000 people have been killed and 2 million were displaced in more than a year of fighting between the two sides. A further 20 people were reportedly killed in clashes on 10 April 2016, hours before the truce was due to come into effect.UNSC adopted Resolution 2201 demanding Houthis withdrawal from Yemen’s government institutions : As per United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) reports, a year of conflict in Yemen has left an estimated 3.4 million women of reproductive age between 15 and 49 years in need of humanitarian assistance.Of these 500000 are pregnant and will give birth within the next nine months. But, the lack of reproductive health services and supplies can lead to an estimated 1000 maternal deaths among 68000 pregnant women. These 68000 women are at the risk of life-threatening complications during childbirth.Comment and Analysis : Ongoing Yemeni civil war (from 2015 to present) may be termed as Saudi-Iran proxy war. This conflict is different from all previous conflicts in Yemen’s history, as this war is not contained to any particular region but has extended from border to border as well as center, as the capital city has been lost by government and at present is in the hands of Houthis, also known as the Ansarallah. This conflict can be ended and the peace talks can provide a political solution to it only if the international community pressures the parties involved in the war to reach peace. International community pressure is needed because limiting the negotiations to the rebels and government will not help in lasting the resolution, if any, that will be reached in Kuwait. A durable solution should incorporate the involvement of all parties, including civil society.
Chinese researchers have developed Graphene based all-weather solar cell that can generate electricity even during rains. The new approach for making an all-weather solar cell by using the ‘wonder material’ graphene was developed by the team of researchers from the Ocean University of China and Yunnan Normal University. The new all-weather solar cell is made up of highly efficient dye-sensitised solar cell coated with a very thin film of graphene. Graphene is a two-dimensional (2D) form of carbon in which the atoms are bonded into a honeycomb arrangement. Chinese researchers had used the phenomenon of graphene’s behavioural changes in aqueous solution. In aqueous solution graphene can bind positively charged ions with its electrons. Researchers used this to obtain power from the impact of raindrops on graphene electrodes. At the point of contact between the grapheme and raindrop, water becomes enriched in positive ions and the graphene becomes enriched in delocalised electrons. It results in a feature known as a pseudocapacitor i.e. double-layer made of electrons and positively charged ions. It also results in generating difference in potential associated, i.e. a phenomenon is sufficient to produce a voltage and current.

Mr Yatsenyuk had entered in office since former pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych was ousted in February 2014 during the Crimean crisis. His resignation comes after his government was accused of inaction and corruption which had led to the political crisis.
