Vijender Singh clinches fourth successive professional win
14 March 2016 Current Affairs: Vijender Singh retained his unbeaten run inProfessional Boxing alive with yet another knockout win over Hungary’s Alexander Horvath at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.Indian boxing star Vijender Singh has achieved up his fourth consecutive knockout professional win by thrashing Hungary’s Alexander Horvath in under three rounds.The Professional boxing star eyeing to win the Asia title in front of my home crowd and lookingforward to record two more knockout wins in April before he plays in India.Hungarian agony ended barely a minute into the third round when Vijender’s body blows brought him to his knees, giving the Indian his fourth knockout triumph.Professional turned amateur boxer from Kaluwasin Haryana, He graduated from local college in Haryana.He practised boxing at the Bhiwani Boxing Club.He was coached by the Indian Boxing Coach Gurbaksh Singh Sandhu.Vijender represented India at the London 2012 Olympic Games.Vijender bestowed with number of awards, including the India’s highest sporting honour Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award and Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour.In June 2015, Vijender Singh ended his amateur career by turning professional as he signed a multi-year agreement with Queensberry Promotions throughIOS Sports and Entertainment. In his first professional boxing match he defeated his opponent Sonny Whiting.
