15 July 2018 Current Affairs: By the terms of resolution 2427 (2018), the 15‑member UN Security Council committed to taking concrete action in response to serious abuses and violations of human rights - including those of children - which could constitute early indications of descent into conflict.
The Council strongly condemned attacks against schools and hospitals, which impede children’s access to education and health care, as well as violations involving the recruitment and use of children, rape, sexual violence and abductions, among other crimes.
About UN Security Council (UNSC):-
♦ UNSC is most powerful and one of the six principal organs UN.
♦ It has 15 members, including five permanent members which are China, France, Russia, UK and US.
♦ It's primary responsibility is to maintain international peace and security.
