In a freak accident in mid sea off the Gujarat coast, three commandos of the Pakistan Marine Security Agency (PMSA) lost their lives, one went missing and two rescued by the Indian Coast Guard after their boat capsized.Coast Guard ship Arinjay, on receiving a message of accident, reached the spot and found three bodies found floating. Its personnel rescued two commandos. The rescued and the bodies were handed over to the PMSA, sources said.
The Coast Guard has alerted coastal police stations in Gujarat on the missing commando.According to the details, a fleet of PMSA boats had allegedly entered Indian territorial waters around 70 nautical miles off Jakhau port where a dozen fishing boats from India were on a fishing expedition. Subsequently, the PMSA started rounding up Indian fishing trawlers and they were being escorted to take them to Karachi port in Pakistan.However, a fishing trawler namely Mahenoor broke down and collided with a small fast boat of PSMA, causing it to capsize with six commandos on board. In that collision and subsequent capsize, three PMSA guards died while one has gone missing and two were rescued by the Coast Guard ship Arinjay.After the Coast Guard officials handed over bodies to PMSA, on its part the PMSA released seven boats including the one which had broken down causing the accident, which were rounded up."The incident occurred on wee hours of Monday and the coast guard's Okha-based ship Arinjay was pressed into service," a source from Kutch told The Hindu.The names of the Indian fishing boats which were being taken by the PMSA personnel are: Uma Shakti, Parsuram, Trishul, Savan, Ashirvad, Kishan Kanhaiya, Baba Tajuddin and Mehnoor, which could not be apprehended due to defective engine.
