Telangana govt to set up Monkey rescue and rehab centre

09 May 2016 Current Affairs: Telangana government has issued orders for setting up a 'Monkey Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre' in Nirmal area of Adilabad district with an investment of Rs 2.21 crore.
This rehabilitation centre will be established as a pilot project at Chincholi, Hyderabad. The department of environment and forests issued orders to this effect. The centre to come up at a cost of Rs.2.21 crore including Rs.1.56 crore as non-recurring expenditure and Rs.65 lakh as recurring cost for the first year and State capitalHyderabad is estimated to have population of 2,000 monkeys.
