TCS CEO N Chandrasekaran appointed to RBI board
05 March 2016 Current Affairs: Natarajan Chandrasekaran, the chief executive officer and managing director of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and two others has been appointed as non-official director to the board of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).Other additions include former Gujarat chief secretary Sudhir Mankad and Mahindra & Mahindra non-executive chairman Bharat Narotam Doshi All three of them will have a tenure of four years . The Reserve Bank's affairs are governed by a central board of directors which is appointed by the Indian government. Besides the RBI Governor, there cannot be more than four Deputy Governors as full-time official directors of the central bank. There can however be ten non-official directors from various fields and two government officials.
