21 March 2016 Current Affairs: Four-time runners-up, SSP Chawrasia broke the jinx to lift the Hero Indian Open with a two-stroke victory at the prestigious tournament at the Delhi Golf Course here on March 20,2016.The 37-year-old came up with a sedate one-under 71 in the final round to edge out defending champion Anirban Lahiri (69) and Korea's Jeunghun Wang (68). The victory also secured his European Tour card.The victory gave Chawrasia a prize purse of $276,660 and European Tour playing privileges for the remaining current and two more years.He is expected to break into world rankings 150 to have a strong chance to make India’s Rio Olympics squad.The Solheim Cup is the Women’s equivalent of the Ryder Cup.Tiger Woods holds the record at -18 for the US Masters.Golf is one of the two only sports to be played on the moon. Javelin is the other sport that was reportedly played on the moon.The most successful Indian golfers are Jeev Milkha Singh and Anirban Lahiri. Singh won three titles on the European Tour, four on the Japan Golf Tour, and six on the Asian Tour.The main tournament is the Hero Indian Open, co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour.
