NCSC Appointed Vijay Sampla As Chairperson For The Second Time
Vijay Sampla, a BJP leader and former Union minister, has been named chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC).

For the second time, BJP politician and former Union minister Vijay Sampla have been named to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC).

Sampla resigned as chairman of the NCSC ahead of the Punjab elections and ran for office. President Ram Nath Kovind issued the official order for his appointment.

Sampla, a well-known Dalit politician from Punjab, first entered politics in 1998 as the sarpanch of Sofipind village in Jalandhar Cantonment. He's also held positions in the Punjab government.

From 2008 to 2012, he was the head of the Punjab Khadi Board, and in 2014, he was the chairman of the Punjab State Forest Development Corporation. In 2015, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Hoshiarpur and appointed as a Union minister.
