Maharashtra to monitor schemes introduced for the welfare of farmers

02 December 2019 Current Affairs: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray approved Rs.606 crores to monitor all schemes related to farmers on a regular basis. The new government aims to introduce new approaches to resolve issues related to cultivators, who have suffered crop losses in unseasonal rains in October. The government said that it will provide any negligible assistance and satisfactory provision for farmers.

Raigad Fort:
Uddhav Thackeray-led state Cabinet approved Rs.20 crores, of the total Rs.606 crores, for conserving the Raigad Fort. It is the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the 17th century. The previous government had disbursed Rs. 20 crores.
