Internet cut in Rohtak over Jat unrest concerns
19 March 2016 Current Affairs: The Haryana government has blocked internet services in Rohtak as a precautionary measure over concerns of a fresh Jat agitation in the state..Rohtak Superintendent of Police (SP) Shashank Anand told ANI that the action had been taken as a precautionary measure.Anand had said earlier admitted to high chances of internet services being blocked again giving the looming threat of Jat unrest in the state.The Haryana Government has stepped up security in many towns as the deadline issued by the Jat community to accept their demand for quotas ended yesterday.Meanwhile, representatives from the state government are holding talks with the Jat leaders in Chandigarh.According to reports, the Jat leaders would also be meeting Haryana Chief Secretary Deepinder Singh Dhesi and Director General of Police (DGP) Y.P. Singhal to put forth their demands.They would not resume the agitation till then.
