India ranks 40th in travel and tourism competitiveness list 2017 by World Economic Forum
10 April 2017 Current Affairs: The Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) is produced by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and measures the factors and policies that make a country a viable place to invest within the Travel and Tourism sector.

India has improved its travel and tourism industry exponentially. It jumped to the 40th position globally, from its previous rank of 52.

The top 10 countries are:-

1) Spain,

2) France,

3) Germany,

4) Japan,

5) UK,

6) US,

7) Australia,

8) Italy,

9) Canada and

10) Switzerland
