India Post launches commemorative stamp on Mother Teresa
05 September 2016 Current Affairs: The Department of Posts released a commemorative stamp in the city to mark Mother Teresa's canonisation in the Vatican on September 4. 

Minister of State for Communications (Independent charge) Manoj Sinha has released the stamp at a function organised at Divine Child High School auditorium.

A commemorative stamp is a postage stamp, often issued on a significant date, such as an anniversary, to honour or commemorate a place, event, person or object. 

The Vatican had earlier chosen Mumbai-based graphic designer Karen Vaswani's logo as the official emblem for the canonisation ceremony. 

Vaswani's design depicts the classic pose of Mother Teresa looking affectionately at a child whom she holds in her arms.
