India and Japan signed a Loan Agreement worth Rs. 1,817 crore for Hydel power project in Bengal
06 November 2018 Current Affairs: Turga pumped storage hydel power project is to be constructed at Purulia in West Bengal.

This project will contribute to the industrial development and living standards in the state.

The deal was signed by the Additional Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), C.S. Mohapatra, and Katsuo Matsumoto, chief representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
