The Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre of Power System Operation Corp. Ltd. (Posoco) and the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi) signed a memorandum of understanding to encourage research on India's power sector issues and strengthen the interaction between academia and industry.

The goal is to increase the academia-industry interaction more along to share knowledge and build capacity through this collaboration, also promote research topics on India's power sector, such as data sciences or data analytics, ancillary services for grid operations, short-term demand, and RE forecasting using artificial intelligence and machine learning, dynamic security assessment, phasor measurement, and unit analytics, among others.

The national energy grid's secure and integrated operations are overseen by Posoco, a state-owned business. One of the five regional load despatch centers is the National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC) (RLDCs).
