24 October 2018 Current Affairs:

Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao of the Hyderabad High Court passed an order directing the Andhra Pradesh government to hold elections to gram panchayats within three months

This is after the writ petition filed by some former sarpanches seeking to declare the appointment of special officers to gram panchayats as unconstitutional and arbitrary. In its order. Hyderabad High Court said that the special officers appointed through GO 90 can be allowed to continue for three months

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said in Visakhapatnam that the government is ready to hold the elections. But the delay in conducting the election is due to issues relating to reservation.
