Hashim Mansoor of Kashmir won Asian Youth Karate Championships
01 December 2016 Current Affairs: Seven-year-old Hashim Mansoor from Kashmir's Bandipora district has won a gold medal at the Asian Youth Karate Championships, being held at New Delhi.

He clinched the gold in the sub-junior category (below 25kg) after defeating his Sri Lankan opponent in the final.

Earlier, eight-year-old Tajamul Islam had become India's first player to clinch a gold in the sub-junior category at the World Kick-boxing Championships.

 Mansoor, after this win has now qualified for the World Championship, to be held next year in September.
