Gujarat State govt to apply lenient approach on reducing fines under motor vehicle

11 September 2019 Current Affairs:The BJP party of the Gujarat government declared a reduction of fine amounts under the motor vehicle (MV) Act as Rs.1,000 from Rs.10,000 in Parliament passed motor vehicle Bill of 2019 on 31 July.

About reduction on motor vehicle fine:
♦ Gujarat government fixed the MV fine amount with a reduction like Rs.1000 for driving a two-wheeler without a helmet into Rs.500.
♦ For triple-riding on a two-wheeler the fine will be Rs.100 not as Rs 1000.
Talking on the phone while driving would attract a fine of Rs.500 for first-time offenders and Rs.1000. 
♦ For dangerous driving, the first-time penalty would be Rs.1,500 for three-wheelers, Rs.3,000 for light-weight automobiles and Rs.5,000 for larger vehicles and Rs.10,000 for a repeat offense. 
♦ The motor doesn't have a license can be Rs.2000 for two-wheeler riders and Rs.3000 for three- or four-wheelers. And Rs.5000 for not registering the vehicle will extend into Rs.1000 for two-wheelers, Rs.2,000 for three-wheelers

The Fine amount For breach of pollution norms the fine in Gujarat is Rs.1,000 for two-wheelers or light-weight automobiles and Rs.3,000 for different varieties of vehicles. The penalty before for this offense beneath the Central MV Act was Rs.10,000.
