Former Indian hockey captain Dhanraj Pillay to get Bharat Gaurav

  • Former India hockey captain Dhanraj Pillay honored with East Bengal football club’s highest honor that is Bharat Gaurav.

  • The East Bengal club chosen former India footballers Syed Nayeemuddin and Subhas Bhowmick for the Lifetime Achievement Awards at the function.

  • India’s hockey team won the Asian Games in 2002 under Pillay’s captaincy.

  • He also received the Player of the Tournament Award in the Champions Trophy held in Germany.
