EPFO to invest Rs 20,000 crore in equities in 2017-18

  • Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya announced Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will invest Rs 20,000 exchange traded funds in the financial year 2017-2018.

  • Earlier EPFO had approved a hike in investment limit in exchange traded funds to 15 percent from 10 percent.

  • EPFO runs three social security schemes: Employees Provident Fund Scheme, 1952, Employees Pension Scheme, 1995, and Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976.
