Coronil Received AYUSH certification

23 February 2021 Current Affairs:Patanjali's Divya Coronil medicine has been certified by the AYUSH Ministry in accordance with WHO certification standards. Highlights: ♦ Now, Coronil has been certified as an aid against Covid-19 and a drug to enhance immunity. ♦ The drug has obtained the Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product (CoPP) from the Ayush Section of the Central Drugs Standards Control Organization. ♦ Patanjali also released a pamphlet containing nine peer-reviewed papers that have proven the efficacy of Coronil. ♦ Patanjali launched Coronil tablets in June 2020. It was developed by the Haridwar-based Divya Prakashan Patanjali Research Institute.  ♦ The Patanjali team claimed that the drug can cure Covid-19 within 7 days. ♦ However, the AYUSH Ministry subsequently prohibited Patanjali from selling it as a "cure". The ministry has asked about the details of the trial.  ♦ In addition, the Rajasthan government sent a notice to the NIMS Hospital in Jaipur, where trials were conducted on Covid patients.
