Cabinet approves Creation of National Testing Agency to conduct entrance exams for higher educational institutions
11 November 2017 Current Affairs: The Union Cabinet approved the creation of the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an autonomous and self-sustaining testing organisation to conduct entrance examinations for higher educational institutions, including NEET, JEE-Main.

The NTA will initially conduct entrance examinations which are currently being conducted by the CBSE. It will eventually take up other examinations once it is fully functional.
