Bob Dylan to Finally Receive Nobel Literature Prize
01 April 2017 Current Affairs: The 75-year-old Dylan, who was awarded the prize “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition,” declined an invitation last year to the traditional Nobel Prize banquet and ceremony on Dec. 10 - the date of Alfred Nobel’s death - pleading other commitments.

Bob Dylan will finally accept his Nobel Prize for Literature in Stockholm this weekend, the academy has announced.

In October, Bob Dylan became the first songwriter to win the prestigious award, and the first American since novelist Toni Morrison in 1993.

Prize Amount: 8m kroner ($900,000;£727,000) prize.
