BJP releases a new list of 36 candidates from four States
25 March 2019 Current Affairs: Bharatiya Janata Party released a list of 36 candidates from four States for the upcoming 2019 general elections in the wee hours of Saturday.
The list includes the highest number of candidates from Andhra Pradesh 23 along with six candidates from Maharashtra, five from Odisha and one each from Assam and Meghalaya.
The development comes close on the heels of the ruling party releasing its first list of 184 candidates for 20 States, which included Prime Minister Narendra Modi contesting from Varanasi and party president Amit Shah from Gandhinagar, instead of veteran leader Lal Krishna Advani who had won the seat in the last five Lok Sabha polls.
