BJP moved Privilege motion against Rahul Gandhi

The BJP on 20th July moved a privilege motion against Congress president Rahul Gandhi for his debate during the “no-confidence motion” initiated by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

BJP MP, Prahlad Joshi sent the notice on behalf of the party. The notice stated that Rahul made “baseless allegations” against the Modi government over the Rafale deal. He also said that it had been made to mislead the members and the House and to bring disrepute to the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister.

Privilege Motion:

A privilege motion is a notice by any member of either House of a state legislature or Parliament, against anyone who is accused of breach of privilege.
