18 October 2016 Current Affairs: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Anurag Thakur is now officially a part of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) powerful Finance and Commercial Affairs committee after completion of the global cricket body's board meeting in Cape Town.

BCCI had raised objections about not having its representative in the F&CA committee and senior officials in the board termed it as a humiliation with Shashank Manohar being chairman of global body.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India is the national governing body for cricket in India. The board was formed in December 1928 as a society, registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act.
