Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled translated volumes of Vachana in 23 Indian languages on the occasion of Basava Jayanti. This is the first ever celebration of Basava Jayanti at the national level in New Delhi. The translated volumes of Vachana was commissioned by the Basava Samithi at a cost of 2.5 crore rupees of which the Karnataka government has contributed 1 crore rupees. The celebrations also coincide with golden jubilee of Basava Samiti that was set up by former Vice President B D Jatti 1964 to spread in Basavannas message.Jehan Daruvala, 18-year-old product of Force India Academy,(FIA) became the first Indian to take pole in the F3 (Formula - 3) European series, securing the top spot on the starting grid for Race 1 of the second round of the championship in Monza, Italy. Jehan Daruvala topped the British racer Callum Illot (Prema Powerteam)Apple and Qualcomm have been fighting relentlessly for a few months over royalty payments. Pattnaik was the Indian representative in the competition, where twenty-five sculptors from different countries participated.The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) will conduct ‘Oorja’ – CAPFs Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament – 2017, throughout the country from May 1-15, 2017. The tournament will be jointly organized by CAPF under the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will conduct the tournament in Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Goa and the Union Territories of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. It will be organized in New Delhi from May 1-2 The objective of the conclave is to bring awareness and prepare Industries.Kerala has conducted the country’s first-ever transgender one-day athletic meet in Thiruvananthapuram. The event saw the participation of 132 participants belonging to 12 districts of the state. The event was jointly organised by Kerala sports council and Sexual Gender Minority Federation of Kerala. In the competition, six events were conducted, namely, 100 metres, 200 metres, and 400 metres running; 100x 4 relay race, high jump and shot put.From May 4, Bhilar village in Maharastra will become India’s first ‘book village’ where tourists and locals can come and read books, magazines, newspapers stacked at 25 premises. Bhilar already attracts a large number of tourists, who come to taste the locally produced strawberries. Bhilar, which has a population of about 10,000, and nearby areas produce around 100 tons of strawberry every year, earning them Rs 50 crore. And 90% of the village’s population is involved in strawberry farming.Union Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Minister Sushri Uma Bharti today launched Bundelkhand water conservation programme at Bandri in Sagar District of Madhya Pradesh(MP). Sushri Bharti's Ministry has taken up new initiatives under National Ground Water Management Improvement Schemes (NGMIS) with an objective to effectively improve ground water conditions in stressed blocks, ensure sustainability of resource both quantitatively and qualitatively. Implementation of water conservation schemes 75 new water bodies with estimated cost of about Rs. 50 crores with tentative potential creation of 2500 dams would be taken up.Google CEO Sundar Pichai received a compensation package of $200 million (1,285 crore) from parent firm Alphabet in his first year at the helm of the company. Pichai received a salary of $650,000 in 2016 besides a $198.7 million stock award, roughly double of his stock in 2015.Paytm will invest Rs10,000 crore in its banking and financial services in the next three years and hopes to get the final approval for its payments bank operations . Paytm operates a mobile wallet and e-commerce marketplace over 1.5 billion transactions on its platform, the company now aims to cross the 4.5 billion mark this year.The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) under its E- Shakthi initiative has so far digitised around 1.29 lakh self - help groups covering 14.86 lakh individuals in the country. The aim of the initiative is to digitise all Self Help Group (SHG) under its Micro Credit and Innovations Department and reduce the drudgery of book keeping and cut the dependence on cash transactions. The pilot project at Ramgarh, Jharkhand & Dhule, Maharashtra in 2015.Union Health Minister JP Nadda has launched the Test and Treat policy for providing treatment to patients suffering from Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The government will provide Anti- Retroviral Therapy (ART) treatment to the patients free of cost. HIV destroys the CD4 T cells in the body that strengthen immunity. People with HIV, who have a CD4 cell count below 200, are at significant risk of developing serious illnesses, and the government currently provides free treatment to people with a count of 400 and below.North Korea has test-fired a ballistic missile defying global pressure and warnings from the United States and its mainly, China. The test was conducted from the Pukchang region present in the north of the North Korean capital, Pyongyang. The Eastern Peripheral Expressway project:- The Rs 5,763-crore Eastern Peripheral Expressway project to decongest Delhi is on fast-track and will become India’s first 135 km green road to be lit entirely by solar panels and have advanced traffic system.The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has planned to build a new oil terminal at Motihari in Bihar to supply fuel to Nepal via the planned pipeline up to Amlekganj in Nepal. The 69-km Motihari-Amlekganj pipeline will be built at a cost of Rs.325 crore. In August 2015, India and Nepal signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a product pipeline.

On the design of new Rs 10 coin, on the reverse of the coin, there will be an image of National Archives Building in the centre with inscription ‘125 YEARS’ below the image.The Central Government has sanctioned construction of over one lakh more houses for the urban poor with an investment of Rs 4,200 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(PMAY). The government has now approved construction of over 18.75 lakh houses for Economically Weaker Sections in 2,151 cities and towns across the country. Madhya Pradesh tops the overall list of states in getting approvals with over 2.66 lakh houses sanctioned under PMAY (Urban) with a total investment of Rs 18,283 crore. Somnath temple in Gujarat.National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) successfully launched its football-stadium-sized, heavy-lift Super Pressure Balloon (SPB) from Wanaka, New Zealand. The mission is designed to run 100 or more days floating at 110,000 feet (33.5 km) about the globe in the southern hemisphere's mid-latitude band. The balloon is designed by NASA to detect ultra-high energy cosmic particles from beyond the galaxy as they penetrate the earth's atmosphere.
