The Decision Review System (DRS), using ball-tracking and edge detection technology, will be implemented from this year's International Cricket Council (ICC) women's World Twenty20 edition, which is slated to be held from November 9 to November 24 in the West Indies. 10 teams - Windies, Australia, England, India, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ireland will take part in the tournament.

'Jeff Sessions' was sworn in as the 84th Attorney General of the United States on February 9, 2017 by Michael R. Pence. Matthew Whitaker, a critic of the Russia investigation, has been appointed the acting Attorney General.

Uttarakhand Nainital district administration decided to reduce the water supply from 16 million litres water per day (MLD) to 8 MLD in view the critical condition of Naini lake. The kidney-shaped Nainital Lake, surrounded by hills, is situated at an elevation of 1,938 metres, with a width of 360 metres and a length of 1,442 metres at present. Over the last century, the lake’s depth has roughly gone down by 10.15 metres.

The new court, which will be the 25th High Court in the country, will start functioning from 1 January 2019 in Amravati. Presently, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have a common High Court situated at Hyderabad. The existing court will from next year be known as the Telangana High Court. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, which resulted in the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, also has a provision for separate High Courts.

India announced contributions of $13.36 million (over ₹97.2 crore) for various United Nations (UN) agencies and development activities at the 2018 'United Nations Pledging Conference for Development Activities'. Around 19 countries pledged a total of $425.69 million at the conference. India has committed over​ $100 million to the India-UN Development Partnership Fund which was set up last year.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the technology-driven and citizen-friendly ‘Mo bus’ service in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The bus has some facilities such as free wi-fi, CCTV surveillance, public information display system and on-board announcements. It will cover 9 routes in Bhubaneswar in the first phase.  Mo Bus mobile app will also be launched through which passengers can book tickets and find the locations of the vehicle.
