Bengaluru-based cab aggregator Ola has officially launched operations in New Zealand, offering ride services in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. It comes after Ola launched operations in Australia and the UK in January and August respectively. Ola claims to have over 125 million users in India, Australia, and the UK. Ola was founded in 2010 by Ankit Bhati and Bhavish Aggarwal.

A consortium of lenders led by Bank of Maharashtra has taken 'symbolic possession' of Pune's Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium over non-payment of loan by stadium authorities. The Maharashtra Cricket Association has failed to repay dues of ₹69.53 crore to Bank of Maharashtra, Karnataka Bank, Bank of Baroda and Andhra Bank despite being served a 60-day notice on August 18.

India elected as a member of the International Telecommunications Union-ITU Council for another four-year term from 2019 to 2022.  The elections to the Council were held during the ongoing ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2018 at Dubai. India secured 165 votes and ranked third among the 13 countries elected to the council from the Asia-Australasia region, and eighth among the 48 countries elected to the council globally.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) under Union Minister Smt Harsimrat Kaur Badal approved the strategy for operationalization of Operation Greens. The strategy consists of the following: Short-term Price Stabilisation Measures, Long-Term Integrated value chain development projects. The Short-term Price Stabilisation measures would be implemented by the Nodal agency NAFED and MoFPI will provide 50% of the subsidy for transport and storage of TOP (Tomato, Onion, Potato).
