How to Apply for SBI Credit Card?
Online: SBI credit cards can be availed by the customer by applying for it through online. It is very simple and easy for the user. The customer should visit the official website of SBI card i.e. www.sbicard.com. This website shows the variety of SBI credit cards from which the customer is allowed to choose the one suitable for him/her. The customer can choose travel related card if they wish to get travel reward points or a shopping card if they are shopaholic. SBI credit card can be applied through online by following the below mentioned steps.
- Step 1: Visit SBI Card official website www.sbicard.com
- Step 2: Select the desired card.
- Step 3: Click on ‘Apply Now’ and the customer will be redirected to an e-application page
- Step 4: Fill up all the basic details such name, contact number, address, occupation, email address, PAN, date of birth etc
- Step 5: The customer will receive an OTP to the mobile number mentioned in the application form. Enter the OTP to authenticate the application submitted by the applicant.
After completing this form, the applicant will be asked to submit his documents. One of the executives from SBI will arrive at the customer’s doorstep to collect the documents. If the applicant is eligible after the verification of their documents, the SBI credit card will reach them within a few days.
Offline: The application for SBI credit card can be done offline also. The customer should visit the nearest SBI branch along with the documents required to avail a credit card, meet a representative and share the requirements. The representative will show the customers the credit cards which will suit their needs and explain its features and benefits. If the client is satisfied, he/she has to fill up the application form and submit the documents. After document verification the customer will receive the SBI credit card within a few days.
What is the Eligibility Criteria and Documentation Requirements to Avail a SBI Credit Card?
The eligibility criteria varies depending upon the card chosen by the customer. Each SBI credit card has different features hence the customers should be eligible to avail the desired SBI credit card. It is safe to enquire about this to the representative before applying for the credit card. There are some conditions remain the same for all SBI credit cards. They are mentioned below:
Age of the applicant must be between 18 - 60 years old.
The applicant must meet the annual income level required to avail the card chosen.
The applicant must have a decent credit score.

Paying the credit card bill on time will not affect the customer’s credit score. SBI has made it very easy by allowing its customers to make SBI credit card payment through online. It can be done from any place like from the office, home or on the go through mobile phone app. SBI offers 9 different methods to pay the credit card bill through online. They are listed as follows. For further instructions the customer can contact the customer care service to get their doubts cleared.
- Login to the online banking facility of your bank and make funds transfer.
- As a beneficiary, add your SBI card under third party transfers.
- You can use the IFSC code SBIN00CARDS which is designated for credit card payments.
- Enter your credit card number in the place of beneficiary’s account number.
- Provide the bank name as ‘SBI Credit card - NEFT’.
- You can then fill in the bank address.
- Visit Online SBI website.
- Login using user ID and password.
- Select ‘View/Pay Bills’ option under the ‘Bill Payments’ section
- Next, click on ‘Without Bills’
- Select ‘SBI Card’ as the biller and click ‘Pay’
- Then select the SBI account number from which the payment is to be made.
Paynet-Pay Online - You have two options given by Paynet-Pay to pay your credit card bills. You make the payment by logging into the SBI card website. Once the amount is debited from your account, you will receive a confirmation message on your registered email and mobile number.
Electronic Bill Payment - The account holders of State Bank of India, Citibank and Bank of India can avail this service. It can be used through Internet banking, Mobile banking or ATMs. SBI credit card payments can be done easily by logging to your bank account belonging to any of the banks mentioned and add SBI card as a biller. Fill out the details about your credit card number and bill payment amount. Once you confirm the details, the transaction is completed and the payment will be reflected within 3 working days
Debit Card - You can visit the Billdesk website to make payments using your SBI debit card by entering your credit card number, amount payable and your email address. As your mode of payment, choose debit cards and select your bank account. You will be directed to the payment gateway of the bank you have chosen. Enter the verification code along with the details as required. Once the payment is confirmed, the amount will be debited and you will receive an SMS and email acknowledgement. This mode takes up to 2 working days to be processed.
SBI Auto Debit - Account holders of SBI and SBI associate banks can use this facility. The list of associate banks are State Bank of Mysore, State of Hyderabad, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore and State bank of Bikaner & Jaipur. Download the form, print and fill it out. You can choose to pay the minimum amount due or the total amount due. Before posting it to the SBI Card and Payment Pvt. Ltd. address you need to get the details verified by your bank. Once you’re done with that step, the amount will be debited every month on the payment due date. You can also choose to deactivate this service by downloading and sending a deactivation form to the same address.
SBI Mobile Banking - To use SBI mobile banking on your mobile, you need to download and install the State Bank Freedom App on your smartphone to access mobile banking anytime. You can register by sending an SMS to the designated mobile number provided by SBI. after this, you will receive a user ID and MPIN. Register before you change the MPIN of your choice. To complete the registration process you need to visit the SBI ATM or branch. In case of an ATM, you need to swipe your ATM/Debit card and choose ‘Mobile Registration’. Then choose ‘Mobile banking Registration’ and ‘Registration’. To complete the registration process, enter your mobile number. If you visit an SBI branch, you need to fill out a registration form and submit it at the home branch. You can then make payments easily towards your card which will be processed within 2 working days.
Electronic Clearing Services - One of the easiest ways to pay your credit card bill can be done through ECS. You can avoid late payments, cheques, drop boxes or also remembering the due date. You need to download the form, print it and fill out the details. You can choose to pay the total amount due, the minimum amount due or the fixed amount. Post the form and a cancelled cheque to the SBI Card payment Pvt. Ltd. postal address. The payment for your credit card bill will automatically be deducted from your desired bank account on the payment due date every month.
SBI also offers traditional and manual ways to its customers to pay the credit card bills. The clients can choose any mode to make their payment in a comfortable way. SBI provides 5 methods to pay their SBI credit card bills. For those who do not have access to the internet or simply prefer offline payment modes, can follow the below mentioned methods to pay their SBI credit card bill.
Over the counter payment - You can choose to visit any of the SBI branch or any SBI associate bank branch to make your SBI credit card payment. Fill in the pay-slip which will be available at the information desk. When you submit this slip along with the cash to the teller, he/she will then issue an acknowledgement receipt. You can also pay by cheques or funds transfer. Within 2 working days, your payment will be reflected.
Easy bill (Cash) - You can make your SBI credit card payments at over 15,000 easy bill outlets. Once you locate the nearest outlet, you need to provide your card number, contact number and the payable amount. Make the payment and collect your acknowledgement receipt. You can make cash payments of up to Rs. 49,000 per day since easy bill payments are opened every day. For transactions upto Rs. 5000 a service charge of Rs. 15 is levied. Whereas, for transactions above Rs. 5,000, Rs. 25 is charged.
Electronic Drop Box (Cheque) - You can use an electronic drop box provided by SBI, if you choose to make payments via cheques. Insert your cheque by following the instructions given by the machine. A scanned image of your cheque will be sent to you as a receipt. This might take upto 4 working days to be processed.
Manual Drop Box (Cheque) - SBI provides over 1,300 drop boxes across the country to deposit your cheque. Fill in the cheque with the payee’s name as “SBI Card No” followed by your 16-digit credit card number. Ensure that the date, payment amount you have mentioned and your signature are clear on the cheque. Also, don’t forget to mention your name and mobile number at the back side of the cheque. Once you’re done checking, drop it into the box labelled “Credit Card Payments” and your payment will be reflected within 4 working days. Please note that drop boxes are only for cheque deposits and not for cash deposits.
SBI ATM (Debit Card) - Your SBI debit card can be used to make any payment at any SBI ATM. Insert your card and choose “Bill Pay”. Enter your SBI card number and the amount you want to pay. You will receive a receipt and your payment will take up to 2 working days to reflect in your account.

#2.Check SBI Credit Card Status
ONLINE: SBI has a dedicated portal designed in such a way that its customers can check their account details through online. Likewise, the SBI credit card application status can also be tracked using the portal. There are two ways a customer can check the application status. One is with the application number and the other without. To track your status online, follow the steps.
Step 1: Visit SBI Card website www.sbicard.com
Step 2: Select ‘Track my Application’ option from the ‘Apply’ drop-down menu
Step 3: There will be two options - Track Application and Retrieve Application
Step 4: Select ‘Track my Application’ if you have the application number and ‘Retrieve Application’ when you don’t have it
Step 5: First the first option, just enter the application number and click ‘Track’
Step 6:In case of the second option, you can track it using your date of birth and PAN.
When the status says in progress means your application is still under progress and the bank needs some more time to process it.
An approved status appears when your card is approved and will reach you in soon. Please note that when your application is approved, your card will be dispatched soon. In that case, you will receive dispatched as your status. You will receive a SMS mentioning the expected time of delivery. Make sure you are available at the mentioned address as it will be handed over to the applicant only. You might be asked for any one of your original ID proofs to further validate your identity at the time of delivery.
Apart from this, you might also receive something like on-hold and disapproved. The on-hold status denotes that your application has been kept on-hold due to some reasons like failed document verification, need more documents to finish the process. You will likely receive a message or call from the bank.
Your application will get disapproved when you don’t meet the eligibility criteria set by the bank. To know the reason for disapproval you can call the SBI customer care. According to SBI norms, once your application is disapproved you are only eligible to re-apply only after 3 months. In few exceptional cases, you may not be able to apply for longer.
OFFLINE: When the customer does not have access to the internet, he/she can call the SBI helpline number to know the status of their application. This is an offline mode. SBI has two helpline numbers to track the customers’ application status, 1860-180-1290 and 39020202. For the second number, the local STD code has to be prefixed before dialing.

Netbanking helps the customers to enjoy convenient banking from home or office. SBI credit card netbanking allows its users to have an access to their bank account 24x7 anywhere at anytime. It helps the user to manage all his bank transactions without visiting the bank’s branch office.
How to Register for Netbanking Services?
The process of registering the SBI card for net banking services is quite easy. To activate SBI net banking on the SBI card, a SBI credit card holders needs to follow the below mentioned steps.
Step 1: Visit sbicard.com and click on ‘Registration’
Step 2:Provide the credit card number, CVV number and date of birth
Step 3: Click ‘Proceed’
Step 4:Enter the OTP sent to the registered mobile number and email address and click ‘Proceed'
Step 5: The user will be directed to a page where the cardholder can select a unique user ID and password for the SBI credit card.
Step 6: Click on ‘Confirm’
Once the registration is done, the cardholder of SBI credit card can access the SBI credit card netbanking service.
How to Login for SBI Credit Card Netbanking?
Once you register to SBI netbanking facility by following the above mentioned procedure, you can easily login to SBI netbanking. Follow the steps to login to SBI netbanking:
- Visit SBI's login page
- Provide User ID and Password
- Click 'Login'
A SBI credit card holder must register his/her SBI credit card by visiting the official website of SBI to make SBI credit card payments. To register the SBI credit card, you will have to follow the below mentioned steps:
Visit the official website and login using your net banking user ID and password
Click on the tab that shows ‘Bill Payments’ and select the ‘Manage Biller’ option.
Select the ‘Add’ option now
Click on ‘All India Billers’ and choose SBI Card Ltd as the biller.
Register the biller details by entering the user’s name and the credit card number and click ‘Submit’
An OTP (One Time Password) is generated and sent to your registered mobile number
Now, enter the OTP and approve the biller details entered.
Once an individual possesses an SBI credit card, he/she can add his/her card on Online SBI. They will be eligible to make their card payments through OnlineSBI. The SBI cardholders can make their monthly credit card payments by following the below steps:
