ONLINE: Customers can apply for a Federal Bank credit card online easily. When there is an active internet connection, you can apply for a credit card online. The process is quite effortless and quick. Follow the step by step procedure to apply for a Federal Bank credit card online using the official website.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of Federal Bank
  • Step 2: On the top left corner of the webpage, click on “Personal”. A drop-down menu will appear.
  • Step 3: Click on “Credit Cards” and you will be shown the credits cards offered by Federal Bank.
  • Step 4: Choose the one which will suit your requirements and click “Apply Online”

Upon filling the online application form, an application reference number will be generated to your contact number and email address post which a Federal Bank executive will come and collect your documents to verify the details and decide your eligibility criteria, credit limit etc.

OFFLINE: Federal Bank credit cards can also be availed through offline mode if the customers have no access to the internet or just prefer it to be a manual way. Eligibility and Documentation Requirement for application of Federal Bank Credit Cards

Eligibility: Federal Bank has set eligibility criteria to its customers to avail a credit card. The applicant should meet the age criteria of the bank since it helps the bank to make an estimate of the repayment capacity of the customer. Secondly, the applicant must have a regular source of income which will help the bank to determine the maximum limit of the credit card to be allotted. And also, the applicant must have a decent credit score and no default payments. Each card has different eligibility criteria which will be discussed by the bank’s representative.

Most of the users pay their bills online since it is user-friendly and easy to access. Federal Bank credit card bill will be generated every month based on the transactions made throughout the month made by the user. The user will have to make payments before the due date to avoid penalties. There are numerous ways through which Federal Bank customers can pay their Federal Bank credit card bills.

Federal Bank Account Holders:

You can register with the bank for net banking facility to make your credit card payments online. After the registration, you can submit a written standing instruction to automatically debit a predetermined amount from your account. This will help you pay the bills on time and avoid late payment charges.

ONLINE: You can pay your credit card bills online when you have an active internet connection. There is a number of ways through which you can pay your credit card bills online. Let us have a look at it in detail.

  • Net banking: You can easily pay your credit card bills online using the net banking service of Federal Bank. You need to have an account with the bank to use the service. You have to sign up for the service and add their credit cards for the same. You will be able to get all the details related to your credit card through this facility. Once you have activated the service, you simply have to visit the website of the bank and log in using their username and password. Choose the Funds Transfer option and add your credit card number as a beneficiary. After this, select the card, the bill of which you want to pay and the bank account which you want to transfer and confirm the date of the transaction. Validate it using a transaction password or OTP number to confirm the transaction.

  • ATM Funds Transfer: To transfer funds via ATM, you have to first select the bill payment option for credit card and then choose the account through which they wish to make the payment. Now, they have to enter the number of the Beneficiary credit card and confirm the transaction.

  • Auto Debit Facility: Federal Bank provides you an Auto Debit Facility using which you can authorize the bank to deduct a certain percentage of the dues pending every month on the due date from their Federal Bank account. You have to download the Auto Debit form and mail it to the bank to activate this facility.

Federal Bank Credit Card Bill Payment from Non-Federal Bank Accounts:

  • Bill Desk: You can use the Federal Bank Billdesk web page which is set up to pay your credit card bills. Fill out the required details which also includes the credit card number and payment amount. The customers are then directed to the Federal Bank net banking portal to complete the credit card bill payment. The customers will receive an online transaction confirmation as well as a Transaction Reference Number after a successful transaction.

  • NEFT: You can pay your credit card bill from any other bank account by using the NEFT facility. The instructions may vary slightly in different banks, but, in most cases, you need to add your credit card number as the payee account number to make the payment through NEFT. Any payments made during the working hours on a weekday are credited on the same day while the payments made after working hours are credited on the next business day.

  • Electronic Clearing System (ECS): Electronic Clearing System helps you pay your Federal Bank credit card bills. Through this facility, you can authorize Federal Bank to deduct your credit card bill amounts from accounts that they hold with any other bank in India. The amount will be debited 3 working days before the payment is due. To use the service, customers have to download the ECS form, fill and mail it to the bank.

  • SWIFT Transfer: Cardholders outside India can use Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) facility to pay their Federal Bank credit card bills. You can transfer money from your local branch to your Federal Bank credit card.

  • VISA Money Transfer (VMT): VISA Money Transfer (VMT) has made the payment process of Federal Bank Bank VISA credit cards easy and simple. This service allows you to pay your pending credit card bills by transferring funds to your VISA credit card online from your other bank account.


OFFLINE: In case you do not have an active internet connection or if you feel uncomfortable with the online mode of payment then you can try the manual method where you will have to visit the bank. Let us discuss in detail

  • Cash payment: You can pay your Federal Bank credit card bill by paying in cash at any one of the branches nearest to you. A processing fee per payment will be charged by the bank when you pay your credit card bill.

  • Cheque payment: If you prefer to pay your credit card bills using cheques, then you can do so in the same way as you would pay your credit card bills by paying cash. You can also drop off the cheques mentioning your credit card number and other required details at the bank ATMs where there are drop boxes for this purpose. The payment will get cleared within 3 working days.

#3. Federal Bank SBI Credit Card Status:

ONLINE: SBI has a dedicated portal designed in such a way that its customers can check their account details through online. Likewise, the SBI credit card application status can also be tracked using the portal. There are two ways a customer can check the application status. One is with the application number and the other without. To track your status online, follow the steps

        Step 1: Visit SBI Card website www.sbicard.com

        Step 2: Select ‘Track my Application’ option from the ‘Apply’ drop-down menu

        Step 3: There will be two options - Track Application and Retrieve Application

        Step 4: Select ‘Track my Application’ if you have the application number and ‘Retrieve Application’ when you don’t have it

        Step 5: First the first option, just enter the application number and click ‘Track’

        Step 6: In the case of the second option, you can track it using your date of birth and PAN.

You will receive the status as soon as you are done checking it. It could either be in progress, on-hold, approved, dispatched or disapproved.

When the status says in progress means your application is still under progress and the bank needs some more time to process it.

An approved status appears when your card is approved and will reach you in soon. Please note that when your application is approved, your card will be dispatched soon. In that case, you will receive dispatched as your status. You will receive an SMS mentioning the expected time of delivery. Make sure you are available at the mentioned address as it will be handed over to the applicant only. You might be asked for any one of your original ID proofs to further validate your identity at the time of delivery.

Apart from this, you might also receive something like on-hold and disapproved. The on-hold status denotes that your application has been kept on-hold due to some reasons like failed document verification, need more documents to finish the process. You will likely receive a message or call from the bank.

Your application will get disapproved when you don’t meet the eligibility criteria set by the bank. To know the reason for disapproval you can call the SBI customer care. According to SBI norms, once your application is disapproved you are only eligible to re-apply only after 3 months. In a few exceptional cases, you may not be able to apply for longer.

OFFLINE: When the customer does not have access to the internet, he/she can call the Federal Bank helpline number to know the status of their application. This is an offline mode. SBI has two helpline numbers to track the customers’ application status, 1800 - 425 - 1199 or 1800 - 420 - 1199. Customers from abroad can dial +91- 484 - 2630994 or +91-484-2630995 to contact customer care.

Feel free to get in touch with the bank in case of any issues or queries. The Federal Bank has an active customer care team to resolve all your queries as soon as possible.

This helpline can also be used for all the general queries including information about the bank’s products, balance enquiry, cheque related details, information about entries in the account, location of bank branches and ATMs, interest rates and service charges, to raise complaints or suggestions related to the Federal Bank’s products/services, for unlocking internet banking accounts and reissue of passwords, and to know the status of debit cards.

For verification purposes, you will have to provide few details such as communication address registered with the bank, customer ID, details of last three transactions, date of birth, etc to the bank representative.

Grievance Redressal:

If you are not satisfied with the products/services offered by the bank, you can escalate the issue to the bank’s higher officials through the grievance redressal mechanism.

Federal Bank has a four-step grievance redressal mechanism to help customers get a proper and prompt resolution to their concerns/queries. Mentioned below is the grievance redressal process.

Step 1: Initially, Federal Bank customers can approach the bank’s customer care department through the toll-free helplines – 1800 425 1199 or 1800 420 1199.

Alternatively, they can also contact the branch where their account is maintained to report their issue.

Customers can also use the complaint form available on the bank’s website under the ‘Grievance Redressal’ page. The duly filled in form should be sent to the address given below.
