How to Register for Citibank Credit Card Netbanking Service?

You need to have a User ID and Internet PIN (IPIN) to register for Citibank Internet Banking Service.

  • Go to Citibank internet banking login page
  • From the options listed on the right, click on the ‘First Time User’
  • Now you will be redirected to ‘New to Citibank Online? Get your User ID and IPIN’ page, where you need to enter your card information, authenticate the details, choose a User ID and IPIN to get your net banking credentials
  • Select ‘Credit Card’ from the ‘Enter Account Information’ tab.
  • Now enter your Citibank credit card number, CVV, date of birth and mailing address PIN code, agree to the T&C and click on ‘Proceed’
  • A one-time password (OTP) will be generated to your mobile number which needs to be entered in the next step
  • In the ‘Authenticate Account Information’ step, enter the OTP received on your mobile number and click on ‘Continue & choose User ID’
  • You will be taken to the next step where you need to choose User ID for your net banking account. As per the instructions provided, create a User ID of your choice, re-enter the same and click on ‘Confirm & proceed to choose IPIN’
  • Once you provide a valid User ID, you will be taken to ‘Choose IPIN’ step, where you need to enter an IPIN of your choice as per the instructions available on the page. Re-enter the pin and click ‘Confirm’

Once you enter a valid IPIN, your screen will display a message saying that your User ID and IPIN has been successfully created. You can use the same credentials to login to your netbanking account instantly.

For existing Citibank Netbanking holders: If you already have an active Citibank net banking account for your savings account, you can simply link your credit card to the existing account instead of registering for a new one. Follow the procedure to link your Citibank savings account and Citibank Credit Card.

  • Login to your existing Citibank netbanking account
  • Select ‘Banking’ from the menu
  • Now select ‘Other Services and Queries’ from the left navigation menu
  • Click on ‘Link my accounts’
  • Select ‘Account type’ as ‘Citibank Credit Card’ from the drop down menu
  • Enter your credit card number and click ‘Next’

If your details match with those in the bank records, your credit card will get linked to your account within two working days. Your credit card will appear in your net banking home page under ‘Account Summary > Credit Cards’ tab, once the accounts are linked. From next time you can use your netbanking credentials to access your credit card details and transactions.

  1. View your credit card statements: Login to your Citibank online account > Credit Cards > e-statement > Select the month for which you need the statement
  2. Register for credit card statement on email: To register, login to your Citibank account > Credit Cards > E-statement > Select register for e-statements on e-mail.
  3. Place a request for duplicate statement: Login to your Citibank online account > Other Card Services > Duplicate Statement > select the required month
  4. Apply for ‘Dial an EMI’ facility: Login to your Citibank online account > Other Card Services > Dial an EMI > Follow the instructions

#2. Citibank Credit Card Status

ONLINE: You need an active internet connection, a laptop/PC or mobile to check your credit card application status online. Make sure you have your application reference number and follow the procedure to check the status of your application.

  • Go to Citibank official website
  • From the menu bar, click on the ‘Credit Cards’ tab
  • Choose ‘Track Application Status’ option from the drop down menu
  • Click on ‘Track Application Status’ and you will be redirected to a new page
  • Now, enter your application reference number and mobile number and click ‘Submit’

You will receive the status as soon as you are done checking it. It could either be in progress, on-hold, approved, dispatched or disapproved.

When the status says 'in progress', it means your application is still under progress and the bank needs some more time to process it.

An 'approved' status appears when your card is approved and will reach you in soon. Please note that when your application is approved, your card will be dispatched soon. In that case, you will receive dispatched as your status. You will receive a SMS mentioning the expected time of delivery. Make sure you are available at the mentioned address as it will be handed over to the applicant only. You might be asked for any one of your original ID proofs to further validate your identity at the time of delivery.

Apart from this, you might also receive something like 'on-hold' and 'disapproved'. The on-hold status denotes that your application has been kept on-hold due to some reasons like failed document verification, need more documents to finish the process. You will likely receive a message or call from the bank.

Your application will get disapproved when you don’t meet the eligibility criteria set by the bank.

OFFLINE: When you do not have access to an active internet connection, then you always have another manual option. Choose the easiest option from the list given below and check the status of your credit card

ONLINE: Most people today like to make their bill payments online whether it is their utility or credit card bill. They can make the payment from their Citibank account or even from another bank account. In both of these cases, they have multiple options to choose from.

  • Online payment using Citibank account
    1. Internet banking - You can pay directly from your online banking account from your citibank account. To view your credit card statement, bill amount and payment due date you need to login to your account and pay your credit card bill, fill in the amount and confirm the transaction.
    2. Mobile banking - You can either download the Citibank app or visit the official website to make payments on your credit card from anywhere on the earth. You can make the payment easily and conveniently by logging in to your online banking account from your mobile phone.
    3. Auto pay instructions - To make any kind of Citibank credit card payment you can set standing instructions with Citibank. Your credit card payment will be debited from your bank account on or before the payment due date without delay so that you will not have to worry about late payment charges.

  • Online payment using other bank account
    1. E-PAY - Citibank provides an online portal called E-pay for its customers to make credit card payments online from other bank accounts. You need to enter your credit card number twice, email ID, mobile number, payment amount and select your bank account. To make the transaction, click on “EPay Now”. You shall be directed to your bank’s payment gateway where you will have to authenticate the transaction. Usually, this will take 2-3 working days to be credited to your credit card amount.
    2. NEFT - From any non-Citibank account, you can make payments on your credit card using National Electronics Funds Transfer. To make payments using NEFT, follow the instructions:
    Step 1: Login to your bank account and fill in the payee details
    Step 2: Now, enter your card number as the Payee account number.
    Step 3: The funds will be credited on the same day if the payment is made before 5:30 pm on bank working days.
    Step 4: Enter your name as it is on the credit card under the beneficiary name.
    Step 5: Your bank name should be Citibank N.A.
    Step 6: Select your payment account type, IFSC code and the branch address.
    Step 7: Confirm the transaction to make the payment by entering the amount.
    3. RTGS - You can make payments via Real Time Gross Settlement transfers by following the same procedure mentioned for NEFT
    4. Electronic Clearance System (ECS) - You can set standing instruction to debit any bank account of yours towards the payment of your credit card. A mandate must be provided by you to Citibank to authorise it to debit your other bank with the credit card payment amount. You can pay the minimum amount due, the total amount due, or a fixed amount. To activate this payment option, you need to download the form, fill it and send it to Citibank.
    5. Your Non-Citibank bank’s website - To make payments towards your credit card account, you can login to your bank’s online banking portal. Citibank credit card has been included as “Utility Biller” with other banks. Select this option and make the payments with your card.
    6. Visa Personal payments - You can make payments towards your Citibank credit card bill from any other bank account you hold, using Visa Money Transfer. This process might take 2 to 4 days to be credited to your Citibank credit card amount.

OFFLINE: A lot of customers prefer to pay their Citibank credit card bill using cash, demand draft or cheque. If they are planning to pay it through offline mode, then they can use one of the two methods mentioned below.
