What are the eligibility criteria for the AFCAT Application Form 2020
Candidates eligible for the exam will ensure they meet all eligibility criteria for admission to the exam.

Indian nationals may apply for the IAF test.

The age of candidates should be 20 to 24 years for Flying Branch via IAF and NCC Special Entry as of July 1, 2021 (born between July 2, 1997, to July 1, 2001).

For the branch of Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical), candidates should be between 20-26 years of age as of 1 July 2021 (born from 2 July 1995 to 1 July 2001).

The qualification for education varies according to branches. The basic qualification for education is that of graduation.

Candidates should note that only the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Higher Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of application will be accepted by the IAF and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of course. Widows/ Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible.

Candidates who were admitted to an earlier course at the National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai, and Officers Training Academy Gaya but were removed on grounds of indiscipline are ineligible to apply.

Candidates who are debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any type of commission in the Defence Services shall not be eligible for AFCAT and if admitted, their candidature will be canceled.

Candidates who have been convicted on criminal charges and those who are still stuck in a criminal case are not eligible to apply.

Why is the AFCAT exam 2020 conducted?
IAF is conducted for the selection of Group A for three branches namely Technical Branch (Short Service Commission and Permanent Commission), Ground Duty Branch (Short Service Permanent Commission) and Flying Branch (Short Service Commission) branches / NCC Special Entry / Meteorology Entry for courses beginning in July 2021. The selection process includes an online test and an AFSB test.
What are the documents required for the AFCAT Application Form 2020?
Candidates are required to bring the following relevant documents, which will be checked during AFSB testing

Original Matriculation/ Secondary School Certificate and Mark sheets issued by CBSE/ ICSE/ State Board. No other certificate will be accepted for verification of Date of Birth

Original/ Provisional Graduation Degree/ Post Graduation Degree Certificates and Mark Sheet of each year/ semester issued by University - only for verification of educational qualifications to check eligibility for the course. The provisional certificate issued by the college Principal is not acceptable. However, a Provisional Degree Certificate issued by the University is acceptable.

What are the fees and other details for AFCAT Exam 2020?

What will be the process of Training in IAF?
Candidates who are recommended and found to be medically fit by the appropriate medical facility are strictly described for training on the merit and availability of vacancies in different branches / sub-branches.
Date and Duration of Training -
The first week of training is scheduled for all courses from Jul 2021. The estimated time of flight and ground service instruction (Technical) industries are 74 weeks and the Ground Service divisions are Air Force Training Institutions for 52 weeks.
Physical Conditioning -
It is advised to retain prospective candidates’ strong physical health for adjusting to AFA physical activity like running, swimming, climbing, and other forms of physical exercise/conditioning subject to mandatory educational exams. Candidates should remain in good standing physical condition by following the routine under the following:-

Running: up to 4 Km. in 15 minutes

Push ups & Sit-ups: Minimum 20 each

About IAF (Indian Air Force)
The Indian Air Force was officially set up on 8 October 1932. Its first ac flight took place on 01 Apr 1933. It had the strength of six RAF-trained officers and 19 Havai Sepoys (literally, air soldiers). The aircraft inventory consisted of four Westland Wapiti IIA military co-operation biplanes at Drigh Road as the "A" Flight nucleus of the planned No.1 (Army Co-operation) Squadron.
