TNEA Counselling 2018

TNEA Counselling 2018 will be conducted by Anna University soon. Students who are interested in engineering can fill their choices from July 25, 2018, to 1st August 2018. Interested students can pick their desired colleges by just clicking on “Add Choice” and selecting any of the options such as add by College Code, add by College Name, add by Branch Name, add by District Name provided there. TNEA Counselling 2018 will be held in online mode and to participate in the counselling, students have to make payment for round 1 before the mentioned date. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) which is conducted for engineering candidates to get admissions into various colleges. Candidates who are willing to study engineering should apply for the TNEA Counselling 2018. Shortlisted candidates will be called to participate in the counselling. TNEA Seats Reservation 2018

TNEA counselling is conducted by Anna University on a yearly basis. It will be held in five rounds. Selected aspirants will get admission into various colleges across Tamil Nadu state. What is the Selection Process followed for TNEA Counselling 2018?

The opening and closing ranks are generally decided by Anna University. The rank list will be displayed on the official website of Anna University. The rank list mainly depends on the overall marks obtained by the candidates, overall cut off and the rank list. The selection process will be prepared by TNEA based on the following parameters.

% of marks obtained in Mathematics
% of marks obtained in Physics
% of marks scored in Chemistry
% of marks in the 4th optional subject
Date of Birth (priority goes to elder candidates)

Steps to apply for TNEA Counselling 2018

Candidates who are applied for TNEA counselling will be grouped according to the merit list and it will be published on the official website. SMS and Email notifications will be sent to the candidates before the counselling process. TNEA counselling is carried out in the following steps.
  1. Visit the official website.
  2. Click on the link mentioning TNEA Counselling Registration.
  3. Fill in all the required fields without any error.
  4. Pay the application fee and submit it.
  5. Later, the random Number will be generated for each candidate who is eligible for the counselling.
  6. Certificate verification for the preferred candidates will be held at their TNEA Facilitation Centre (TFC)
  7. Rank list with the candidates’ names and the date will be published by TNEA Authority.
  8. Candidates have to confirm the allotted colleges to them.
  9. Candidates should pay the initial deposit of fees to the selected colleges.

 What is the Detailed Procedure of TNEA Counselling 2018?

The detailed procedure of TNEA counselling is mentioned below. Candidates have to follow the steps carefully while applying for TNEA Counselling through the online mode. At first, candidates are asked to download the TNEA application form 2018. Secondly, fill in all the required fields and cross-check everything before submitting it. The TNEA Counselling procedure starts from the registration process, random number, final allotment of seats, certificate verification, and rank list to payment mode.

Registration Process

Candidates who are applying for TNEA Counselling have to download the TNEA Application form. After that, the candidates have to fill all the details and pay the mentioned fees through any mode of payment such as credit card, debit card or by online payment. The registration fees should be payable through online mode only. After the registration process, the candidates will get the random number which is generated by the Anna University.

Random Number

After that, a random number will be assigned to each candidate. It's assigned to each applicant to resolve any issues when more than one candidates hold the same rank and the inter-se-merit cannot be resolved even after checking the criteria such as marks in subjects, date of birth, and so on. The random number is generated based on a unique number generating algorithm. A random number is a 10-digit number which is generated randomly and assigned to each TNEA applicant.   • After that, enter your "user ID and date of birth"
  • The random number will be displayed on the screen.
  • Note it down for further use.

Certificate Verification

The date for certificate verification for the selected candidates will be officially announced by the Anna University. Candidates should carry the necessary documents for certificate verification to the facilitation centres. Candidates have to produce all the original documents along with the copies of the same. After the certificate verification, rank list will be published by the university.

Documents to be carried for verification

Candidates should carry all the documents for certificate verification to the TamilNadu Facilitation Centres (TFC). The documents to be carried are given below, 
  • Class 10th standard Mark Sheet
  • HSC / Equivalent Mark Sheet*
  • Transfer Certificate*
  • Permanent Community Certificate for SC, ST, BCM and other candidates - electronic or digitally signed
  • Nativity Certificate - If applicable
  • First Graduate Certificate- If applicable.
  • Special Reservation Form with DD – If applicable.
  • Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee certificate – If applicable

Rank List publication

Candidates can check their seat allotment through the rank list announced by the Anna University. Different rounds are conducted by the University and seat allotment are carried out in a perfect manner and the availability of colleges and seats are regularly updated.

Payment of Initial admission fee

Candidates who got shortlisted have to pay the initial amount of fees to their allotted colleges. Candidates are advised to cross-check their names and other details before they pay the initial amount to the college. Candidates can use their debit or credit card to pay their initial amount of Rs. 5000. Additionally, applicants are allowed to pay the amount to the selected college through Net banking. Their selected college will be confirmed once they pay the initial payment to the college.

Final Allotment of Seats 

Candidates have to select their desired college and download their allotment order. After verifying the allotted colleges and course as printed on the letter, candidates have to confirm the seat. In case of any withdraw, the candidates have to report to the college and further, they have to enroll for admission before the given last date. The final list of the candidates will be prepared by the university and it will be published on their official website.

TNEA Counselling 2018 for candidates apply under Special Category

Candidates who are applying for special categories are also eligible for a general counselling session. Candidates applying for differently abled persons have to submit a certificate from Medical Board of the District. Special category counselling will be carried out in Chennai. A separate panel of Anna university authorities will examine the candidates with reference to their certificates before TNEA counselling 2018 and they will finalize the candidates for further process. Candidates who apply under a special category of Ex-serviceman should apply with the concerned ID card.
