About SBI - Exam Overview

SBI Clerk Exam is conducted by SBI or State Bank of India to recruit candidates for Clerical Cadre in its different branches across the country. SBI Clerk facilitates the recruitment for the posts of  Junior Associates (JA) and Junior Agriculture Associates (JAA).SBI conducts an online based computer exam for prelims and mains level.All candidates who qualify preliminary exam allowed to appear for mains exam schedule to be held in December.The marks secured in mains exam only be considered for selecting candidates for the clerical post.According to the notification, no interviews will be conducted for recruitment of candidates in clerical cadre posts.The main weight age will be given to the score obtained by the candidate in the online main examination of SBI Clerk. The allotment of banks will be done as per candidates rank and preference. The application procedure of SBI Clerk 2017 will begin tentatively in August/September.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates applying for Junior Associate posts must have a Graduation level degree in any stream.
  • Candidate applying for SBI Clerk 2017 as Junior Agricultural Associates must have a Graduation degree in Agriculture or Agriculture allied activities from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification.

Age Limit

  • Age limit of SBI Clerk for General category candidates:
  • Minimum – 20 Years
  • Maximum – 28 years.

Steps to fill SBI Clerk Application Form

  • Candidates can fill the SBI Clerk application form in online mode as no any other mode of application is available and accepted.
  • Candidates are advised to read the notification carefully to ascertain their age and educational criteria as required for appearing in SBI Clerk.
  • The registration is a 4 stage procedure.
  • The first stage of SBI Clerk application form is registration number and password, followed by uploading of images and signature of required dimension, payment of application fee and taking a printout of the confirmation page.

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern

The SBI Clerk will be held in two phases namely Preliminary and Mains. The detail of SBI Clerk 2017 exam pattern is given below.

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern - Preliminary Examination

The preliminary exam will be conducted in online mode tentatively in October/November. The exam will be of 1 hour and online test paper will have 100 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each.

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern - Mains Examination

The mains exam will be also conducted in online mode tentatively in December for candidates who have will qualify the preliminary exam. The exam will be of 2 hours and 40 minutes and online test paper will have 200 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each.

SBI Clerk Admit Card

SBI Clerk Admit card is available for preliminary exam whose candidates application will be accepted by the examination authority.The mains exam Admit card of SBI Clerk 2017 will be available for only those candidates who will qualify the preliminary exam.The admit card will have candidate’s detail like their exam roll number, category, photograph, signature, name, and address of the allotted exam center.

SBI Clerk Result

SBI Clerk Result is declared by State Bank of India (SBI) in two stages. The SBI Clerk result for preliminary is declared first and qualified candidates will be allowed to appear for mains exam.Based on the result of SBI Clerk mains exam, candidates will be selected for bank allotment process. The SBI Clerk result is declared for only those candidates who will score sectional as well as overall cut off score as per their category.
