How to Download the KTET Admit Card 2018?

KTET Admit Card 2018 for all categories will be available from June 18, 2018, to be released by the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan at the official website of the Board at keralapareekshabhavan.in. Candidates need to download and print KTET 2018 Exam admit card from the below given official link. KTET will be held on 23 and 30 June 2018. Candidates have to bring a printed copy of the admit card to the KTET Exam centre along with any one of the original identification card such as Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar UID, Valid College ID, Employee identification card or Driving License.

Usually, the KTET selection will comprise of four categories. While first three categories will be for teacher posts of lower primary, upper primary and high school classes, respectively; the last category will be for language teachers in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers and Physical Education teachers (up to High School level). Minimum Pass percentage for KTET exam is 60%.

What is KTET, Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test?

Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) is conducted on behalf of the Government of Kerala to appoint eligible Teachers in Government Schools of Kerala. Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) is conducted separately as
  • Category I (Lower Primary classes - From Class I to V),
  • Category II (Upper Primary classes - From Class VI to VIII),
  • Category III (High School classes - From Class IX to XII) and
  • Category IV (for Language Teachers - Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu - up to UP classes, Specialist Teachers (Art & Craft) and Physical Education teachers).
State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan released the official notification on Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) 2017 on July 1. Kerala TET exam will be held on August 12 and August 19.

What are the Eligibility Criteria for KTET?

Age Limit:

There is no age limit prescribed for candidates appearing for K-TET.
 

Minimum Educational Qualification:

For CATEGORY-I (for Lower Primary classes):
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks.
 
For CATEGORY-II (for Upper Primary classes):
B.A/B.Sc/B.Com with at least 45% marks (or) Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
 
For CATEGORY III (for High School classes):
BA/BSc/B.Com with at least 45% marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned.
MSc.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned with not less than 50% marks.

What is the Application Procedure for KTET?

KTET Application should be submitted only through online mode. There are two steps for submitting the application as follows:

Step 1 (fee payment):- Apply for KTET examination by filling all essential details. Then application fee can be paid by  credit/ debit card, Net banking or other mode of payment by chalan.

Candidates have to remit the Exam Fee in cash in the Account No. 67186142559 Kerala TET, in favour of the Director, SCERT, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram at the select branches of State Bank of Travancore.
 
Step 2:- After paying fee, candidates are allowed to provide  details in the second step. During this step, candidates have to upload their recent photograph. That photograph should be of 200 pixels height & 150 pixels width and having the size of 20
to 30 kb in jpeg format.

What is the Exam Structure of KTET?

There will be only one paper for all four KTET categories. There will be 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four choices. Each question carries one mark. There will be four alternatives out of which one will be the correct answer. Total time allotted is 150 minutes.

What is the maximium Qualifying Marks for KTET?

A person who scores 60% or more (ie., 90 marks) in the K-TET examination will be considered ‘KTET passed’ or ‘K-TET qualified’. This will be the qualifying marks for all categories.
Negative Marks: There will be no negative marks for KTET.
 
The qualifying marks for candidates belonging to various categories are as follows:
  • for general candidates 60% or more marks i.e., 90 marks.
  • for SC/ ST/ OBC/ OEC candidates requires 55% ie 82 marks.
  • for PH and visually impaired candidates 50% ie 75 marks.

Cash Award for the KTET Toppers:

For all category i.e, KTET I, II, III, and IV, the candidates who secure top most marks in KTET (above 80%) will get
  • Rs.20,000/- for 1st Rank,
  • Rs.15,000/- for IInd Rank and
  • Rs.10,000/- for IIIrd Rank.
If there is no candidate with marks of 80% or above, then the candidate who have high marks in the range of 75% to 79% will get Rs.1000/- for each category.
