JAM - Joint Admission Test Application Form:Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (shortly, JAM) will be conducted by IIT Bombay on February 11, 2018 for admissions to M.Sc. (Four Semesters), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, etc. Programmes at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree programmes at IISc. IIT Bombay released the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc ie., JAM Application Form on September 5, 2017. Candidates who wish to appear for JAM, will have to first register themselves for the admission test. JAM Application Form is available in online mode only. Candidates will also need to pay the application fees for JAM test in the prescribed mode within stipulated time. Data required for JAM - Joint Admission Test Application Form:Before filling JAM Application Form at JOAPS (JAM Online Application Processing System), Candidates should make ready of the following essential documents:
- Personal information (Name, Date of birth, Personal mobile number, Parent’s name, Parent’s mobile number, etc.).
- Address for Communication (including PIN code)
- Eligibility degree details
- College name and address with PIN code
- JAM paper/s with code - [Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematical Statistics (MS)]
- Choice of JAM examination cities
- High quality image of candidate's photograph as per the guidelines mentioned below
- Good quality image of candidate's signature as per the guidelines mentioned below
- Scanned copy of Category (SC/ST) certificate (if applicable) in pdf format
- Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format
- Details of the valid Identity Document (ID)s (This ID proof, in original, should be carried by the candidate to the examination hall)
- Net-banking/ debit card/ credit card details for fee payment

First step the Candidates need to do is enrolling themselves on JOAPS portal, which is mentioned below:
Step 1:- Registration on JOAPS website:
- Click Here to register on JOAPS
- Enter your Name, Email Address, Mobile Number in the appropriate boxes in that link.
- Create the JOAPS Password as per given specification
Only registered candidates (i.e., candidates who have valid JOAPS Enrollment ID) can be able to fill the JAM Application Form. The following details need to be compulsorily filled by the candidate in JAM Application Form.
Step 2:- JAM Application Form - Filling process:
- Parent/ Guardian's name and Mobile number
- City choices
- The number and choice of test paper(s) that he/she wishes to appear
- Date of birth
- Address for communication
- Category and PwD status
- Information on qualifying degree
- Percentage of marks/ CGPA
- Details of valid personal ID information
- Aadhaar ID,
- College ID,
- Driving License,
- Employee ID,
- PAN Card,
- Voter ID.
Step 3:- Uploading of Required Documents:Candidates have to upload their scanned photograph, signature and required documents as per the specifications mentioned in the following table.

|3||Category and/or PwD Certificate||In order to avail application fee concession under the SC/ ST/ Person with Disability (PwD) category,
the candidates should attach a recently obtained and proper certificate issued by the competent authority.
|4||OBC-NCL Candidates||OBC-NCL candidates are NOT required to submit/upload any category certificate along with the filled JAM online application form.||------||------|
Step 4:- Preview of Filled JAM Application Form:After filling all essential details in JAM Online Application Form, candidate need to preview the entered details before making fee payment. On clicking “Preview” option, candidates can view the entire details given by them. If any mistakes made while filling the application form, candidates can edit it. After making all essential changes, candidates have to select “Confirm and Final Submit” option. After this confirmation process, candidates cannot edit the entered details further.
After confirming details provided in JAM Application Form, Candidates should pay the fees through online (using net banking or debit/ credit card) only. SC/ST/PwD category candidates will have to upload a valid Category certificate for concession in fees.

Once the payment is made successful, a unique “Fee Payment Number” will be generated, which has to be kept safely by the candidates. During the last stage of the application process, Candidate has to submit this unique number. In case the fee amount has been debited from candidate’s bank account and JOAPS does not acknowledge any fee payment, then the money will be credited back to the candidate’s account within seven working days.
Additional Fee for Addition or Change of Test Paper(s):After submitting the filled JAM application form, if a candidate decided to appear in other test paper or to change test paper(s), he/she can ADD THE ADDITIONAL TEST PAPER or can change the TEST PAPER(S) before the closing date in the previously submitted JAM application form. In such cases the candidate has to pay an additional fee online before closing date as per the following table.

Additional Fee for Changing Category or Gender:Candidates, who have wrongly entered the Category or Gender in JAM Application Form, will be allowed to change the Category or Gender with an additional fee as per the following Table:

Candidate who change the Category or Gender have to pay the above mentioned additional fee by Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of "The Registrar IIT Bombay", on any nationalized bank, payable at Mumbai. The DD must be sent along with a request letter to "The Chairperson, JAM-2018, GATE - JAM Office, IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai 400076", on or before October 30, 2017.
Step 6:- Final Submission of Filled JAM Application Form:Before submitting the JAM Application Form, candidate must ensure that all the details are filled and all the necessary supporting documents are uploaded and there is NO ERROR. An application form once submitted CANNOT be changed after paying the fee.
Procedure to Check JAM Application Status:The current status of filled JAM application form will be updated after the receipt and scrutiny of the application. This status can be checked anytime by logging into JOAPS using unique Enrollment ID and JOAPS Password.
The defects in the JAM application will be marked and intimated to the candidate by email and/or SMS for rectification within a stipulated time period. Candidates should respond quickly in rectifying the marked defects in the JAM application at the earliest and definitely before the stipulated deadline. Application will be rejected for the candidates who failed to rectify the defects within the stipulated time and no further intimation will be sent in this regard.
