About GATE 2019 Exam:

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an All-India Examination for undergraduate Students in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture to test basic technical knowledge. Through the GATE Exam score, you can grab Admissions to Post Graduate programs in best institutions with Scholarship and grasp Top Jobs in India.

The GATE examination happened for international candidates in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

1) Admissions to Post-Graduate programs (e.g., ME/ M.Tech/ Direct Ph.D.) in centrally funded Indian Institutes of higher education (i.e., Institutes which have provided with financial assistance by MHRD [Ministry of Human Resource Development] and other Government agencies).

For a candidate to enter into the post-graduate program, a minimum of 70% weightage given to the performance in GATE, and the remaining 30% weightage given to the

candidate’s performance in test/ interview and academic record, as per MHRD guidelines.

 2) Employment opportunities in India - GATE score is mainly considered by some Public Sector Undertakings (i.e., IOCL, NTPC, BHEL, PGCIL, BARC, etc.) and Private Sector Undertakings in their recruiting drive.

Direct recruitment to Group ‘A’ level posts, i.e., Senior Field Officer (SFO Tele), Senior Research Officer (SRO) (Crypto), and SRO (S&T) in Cabinet Secretariat is now being done based on GATE scores.

The weightage of the GATE score in these companies is around 85%, and the rest 15% has reserved for your performance in Group Discussion / Personal Interview. So, a good GATE score more or less guarantees your selection in these companies.

 3) MS programs also consider GATE score along with an interview for direct admission.

 4) Teaching Field: With good GATE score, Candidates may join as Professor, Asst. Professor at IITs, NITs, reputed educational institutes, etc.

 5) Junior & Senior Research Fellow: With best GATE score, Candidates may also take JRF projects at ISRO, DRDO, BARC, CSIR, IITs, etc.
