Writes detailed design and functional specifications in addition to collaborating on requirement documents and system level test plans.

Collaborates across engineering, product management and pre-sales groups to ensure product requirements are being implemented to meet customer needs.
Advises on future product enhancements, and collects requirements for future products and features.
Reads and understands hardware and software specification and design documents, proposes changes and improvements based on requirements.
Exercises considerable latitude, without appreciable direction, in determining technical objectives.
